I would like to share with all of you a small part of my night out in Rancho Mirage. I made plans to meet with two friends here on CDH for a girls night out. We all got our own rooms in the Agua Caliente hotel and Casino on Saturday. While I have been out in public many times, I usually go to a venue that I am familiar with and has a more private entrance. We all dressed and applied makeup in the privacy of our own rooms. A little after 7:00 I got a message from AA, she was at the casino bar next to the club we planned to attend. I was a little to frightened to make my way there alone. I was actually shaking scared. We decided to all meet and walk to the club together. We met in G`s room and put the final touches on our outfits and makeup. The time had finally come. We all hopped on the elevator to the lobby. Purse over my shoulder and my friends by my side the elevator door opened to the lobby. We left the elevator and made our way across the very busy Casino floor. The more we walked the better I felt about being out in a very public place. I am sure we were quite a sight as we made our way to the bar for a cocktail. We had a drink then made our way into club. We took a seat in a corner booth and started chatting with each other. Keep in mind this was our first meeting. We promptly made friends with a pretty young GG at the club and the rest of the patrons at the club were very friendly or indifferent. My fears subsided quickly and we had a great time. Megan was kind enough to take a few pics and sit down and talk with us. surely an experience I will never forget. The rest of our night out is a story for another time.
Moral of the story is having friends makes the first steps off the elevator easier and people are way more accepting than you think. What a fun evening we had.

we must have been the sight as we rounded the corner out of the lobby and into the casino. Can't wait to read the rest to hear it from your point of view.

I think that one of the very best parts about "going out" in public are the memories. I will never forget my first time out as Lexi, ( I related the story in the introduction forum, I think)… I have never gone out with any "gurl" friends, but have met many when I did go out. For a time, I was a regular at some CD friendly, or gay clubs, and wow was it a blast. I was actually going out for a short time or longer night time, about 3-5 nights a week for a few months. I went to 2 in particular, but would venture out to Tampa, further away. I have some wonderful memories of those times, that were about 8 years ago, or so. I miss going out like I used to, but things have changed, transportation and other reasons. I think for those who have never been out, as I used to be, there was always that, #1 fear of it, and the other, even more for me, was the mystery of it all, the wonder. I must say, the role reversal, of before going out to clubs as a male, and then going out dressed as a woman, was truly eye opening. Men bought me drinks and offered to dance with me, as well as other things.. it was a real eye opener. Whereas I was the male, buying drinks for women, asking them to dance.. It was truly a thrill for me.
