Yesterday I achieved another goal for the beautiful lady in me, my name picked me, I am proud to announce that Stephanie Louise has arrived.

Now to continue on my journey of discovery and learning so that I can make sure that Steph is an attractive, proud and empowered woman.

All help and advice on things like wigs (as male me is bald), makeup which I have no idea where to start, and fashion from you lovely ladies would be gleefully accepted, I’m also hoping to make regular friends on this site

@jimbo While you have been a CDH member for almost a year, Stephanie, I don't remember welcoming you to CDH at the time, so welcome to our little salon on the Internet!

It must feel good to have discarded your male name and chosen your femme name. I didn't even know that that was a thing until I joined this forum.

As for choosing your wardrobe, you have been buying your new clothes for about a year now. It takes about that long to go through whatever seasons that you have in Australia to build up some outfits.

You haven't mentioned going abroad yet, so have you left your house while dressed? That should govern what style of clothes that you are interested in. That focus will guide which clothes to buy, to keep things practical.

Welcome to the world Stephanie !! As for wigs all I can say for myself is I wear the same color as my natural hair.. I feel it looks more natural with my skin tone/eye brows/ lashes. As for fashion think to yourself what kind of clothes attracted you to the idea of dressing? And then go from there. I like to watch movies and copy certain actress’s outfits! Have fun dressing

@coloradog1 Hi Nat, thanks for the response, and thanks for the advice on wigs, I haven’t looked at any yet but it’s on the to do list, make up is another thing I have to learn about, as far as clothes are concerned I’ll try and work that out as I go along, I have a few things but my wardrobe is limited at the moment, I’m going slowly to allow my wife to become more comfortable with my changes it’s only been 12 months.

i hope we can continue to chat.

would you mind if I sent you a friend request?

@jimbo I’m the wrong girl to ask for makeup.. not good at it myself but that’s fine because I’m not too into heavy makeup anyway, I just use a bit to cover up any 5 o clock shadow. I do love my lipsticks however. And of course you can send a friend request

@ab123 Hi, Angela, thanks for being so ready to assist me, I do have a question, I have very little in the way of clothes at the moment, and I’m trying to work out how best to develop myself so I am presentable and stunning to the world, should I be looking at a wig before buying anymore clothes and even thinking about attempting make up (which is a world of mystery to me) or should I just keep buying things that I like, 2 things that will always be staples in my wardrobe are beautiful classy boots and furs

@jimbo A difficult question Stephanie. I started buying things for myself which were perhaps random, some suited, some didn't and was buying and trying then discarding a lot of things, It was trial and error and I wanted to buy everything but there was no internet and  made some bad choices on wigs and clothes.

So what I would say to you is to find out your true size,( If you haven't already done so) in dresses, skirts, shoes, bra and so on. Then decide on your style, what do you want to achieve? Is it for home pleasure or going out? I can't imagine that the Aussie climate lends itself to furs and boots so if the anticipation is to go out is this what you want to be seen in.

For my opinion it is getting the clothes right first, perhaps consider butt and booty shapewear, waist clinchers, enhance the basic frame then build on it, deciding what style to wear over it and start to buy a few clothes to see how they look. Once the frame is set it's onto detailing. Makeup, plenty of tutorials and if brave enough go and ask the ladies at the cosmetic counters along with nails. Accessorising with jewelery, bags. Then finally the crowning glory, the wig. The wig is important and look online at a style that compliments you. Try a few cheap styles to gauge before taking the plunge for a really nice one.

Obviously this is my thoughts and will be dependent on your finances and ability to shop. Plan it don't rush it.

@ab123 For a difficult question, your answer is well thought out and logical Angela, I’m not 100% sure about body shaping, I’m not sure how my wife would take that, even though she is starting to slowly come round yesterday when she got home she asked my what I’d being doing and after I told her she said “did you dress up today” and Steph hadn’t been out so I said no, I actually mentioned to her in conversation that I needed to get a couple of cammies and the only thing she said is ohh cammies eh, so anyway back to the subject, boots can be worn in Melbourne most of the year except for summer, and fur in winter, late autumn and early spring would not be out of place, the way you’ve structured your idea of a development plan sounds good, it’s practical, logical and can be done at any pace, the other issue I have is body hair, now I assume I won’t have to worry about chest hair with body shaping, but what the hell do I do with the rest of it, I have dark arm and leg hair, (I’m trying to hide the leg hair with the darkest stockings I can get), but my arm hair goes all the way down to the back of my hands, and face hair, it doesn’t matter how many times I shave, I always seem to miss some especially around the jaw line and neck, If I shave too much my face becomes rough, I’m thinking of maybe getting laser on my face, any ideas with these issues, until I get them sorted out I can’t move on to learning and experimenting with make up.

sorry about the long winded reply girlfriend, but this lady still has a lot to learn

😘Steph

@jimbo For the legs thick black tights are okay. However if you go online there are ballet style tights which are quite thick or 'granny' denier tights. They will hide leg hair and wear a 20 denier tight over the top and it looks good.

Hands and arms need to be shaved alas and understand the issues with your wife about that.

The facial hair. Yes if you can get electrolysis or, if your hair is dark laser that is ideal. Shaving is always an issue. I use a five blade razor. Apply a hot cloth on the face before shaving, foam up and shave in short strokes, tighten the skin as you do so. Round the mouth stroke the blade down the lip area then up against the grain towards the nose. Wash everything of and let it rest. After a few minutes apply a very thin layer of shaving foam without foaming and use a dry razor to go over it again. Moisturise with a good cream after all that, moisturiser regularly is always recommended.

The dark shadow can be hidden by an orange foundation around the beard area. Some use a greeny blue dependent on the hair colour - Go online and you'll find tutorials or go to a cosmetic counter at a store if you feel brave enough, a lot of ladies here do that in drab as it isn't as bad as you imagine these days and you may get a lot more advice.

Hope this helps.

@ab123 Thanks lovely, I’m finding I don’t have any hassles going to a shop in drab for Stephanie, she is a part of me and deserves recognition and respect, I don’t do it in my local area to protect my wife from her own embarrassment, but I’ve bought all my clothes and my beautiful black boots (in my profile pic) in person and have not had an issue, if anyone has an issue or is belittling or belligerent towards Steph needs, I just walk out or am more than capable of defending her right to exist, I’ll do whatever I want for Steph and the world can deal with it, my goal is to have Steph have her own life, own friends and not be hidden in a house or wardrobe, I’m not just developing a dressing desire, I’m developing another human being, and I want her to be the best and most gorgeous and sassy she can be

Stephanie, thank you for providing a deep smile to my heart! I suspect several of our esteemed members (just look at the list above!) smiled with you too. All of us likely recalls when and how we settled on our femme names. Gosh, I had such a flashback!

Welcome, dear. We are happy that you have joined us. More than that, we are honored that you have opted to share yourself with us!

Dee, thank you so very much for your lovely welcome, if I have brought a smile to your face and made you get that little shiver and maybe a little bit of a school girl squeal then I’m happy, just thinking of Stephanie Louise gives me that little shudder and being able to type and say my beautiful name out loud gives me a thrill all through my body and makes me want to go and put my only skirt and stocking (not pantyhose) on and put my beautiful black boots on and let Steph be free.
