Keystone is just wrapping up and one of my personal takeaways from the experience is realizing that this is my longest period of “being Grace”☺️.

Two days in a row of 8+ hours straight in girly mode. A new record!

I had a wonderful time here and will have more thoughts on my experience but I wanted to start with this simple topic question as I feel it’s a good barometer for checking your girlyness level. Because as good as it feels to “get my girl on”, after 8 hours and more it feels just as good to get my girl off.

it made me wonder what’s the longest period you girls have stayed dressed?(Crossdressers mainly, as I’m aware there are some here that are full timers☺️.)

Before I went full-time, the longest stretch was six days.

@lizk I have to say I couldn’t imagine 6 straight days. At Keystone I was drabbing it for breakfast, a little exercise - then get into the girly stuff in time for lunch. Stay there until night. I have to admit that after 3 days I was thinking - Thank God this is over tomorrow. Strangely though, now that I’m home I’m thinking…kinda wouldn’t mind dressing up again pretty soon. I may be onto something here Liz…crossdressing. It might be addicting…🤣😂😂🤣😆🥰

Each of us is unique Grace.  You do you.  I'll do me.

In my situation, there is only one 'mode'.  I don't think about getting 'dressed' anymore.  They're just my clothes.  I wear what I want when I want.  Of course, there's a lot more to it than clothes for me.

Do you really think of crossdressing as addictive?  I've always thought of addiction as being treatable - i.e. there's a way to minimize or prevent whatever it is you're addicted to.  But nearly every crossdresser I know will admit that they can't stop.  Nor do they want to.  It seems we're wired this way.  At least that's my take.

Hugs, Liz

@lizk Yes, I really do think of CD’ing as addictive behavior. For starters, I don’t believe there’s any habit that someone ‘can’t stop’. Or prevent. (Ask our own Chrissie Smith about stopping.) Unless it’s something you need to stay alive, you can stop doing it. The desire may never go away - but people can certainly control their own behaviors. That’s just a mindset. I gave up crossdressing for many years and that’s why I know it can be stopped. Doesn’t mean you don’t ever think about it, you just don’t do it. Exercise self control. Retiring recently brought it back for me because I needed one more hobby. And that one is certainly appealing since I used to practice it on a regular basis when I was younger. Before life got in the way.

Hugs back!🥰

I was never able to stop for long.  It wasn't a matter of self-control.  I would become depressed and irritable when I tried to control it.  I now know that it was dysphoria.

I think many of us are on a spectrum.  For whatever reason, stopping isn't realistic.  Nobody knows why some of us are that way.  Part of nature's infinite variety, I guess.

It's all good.  We all deserve to be happy.

Good tangent.  Thanks for sharing!

@lizk That’s funny Liz, I’m the total opposite. I get depressed and irritable if I suspect anything is controlling me. Then I put a stop to it and I take the control back. It’s my nature.

I recently decided that one of the main goals in life should be figuring out what makes you happy. So many people seem to just go through the daily motions without ever stopping long enough to realize what they really enjoy doing. For 40 plus years I was a workaholic and figured I’d always be that way til the end. I had no hobbies, and was very aware of it heading to retirement. I was quite self conscious about it too, embarrassed even. Once retired I started realizing that a lot of things I did while working, I didn’t really enjoy. At least not to their fullest. Even simple things like showering, or shopping were rush-rush-rush all the time. Keep on speeding to the next thing I have to do and never fully soaking up any of the experiences.

It took a little time, but I slowly rediscovered things that I enjoyed that I could now take my time doing. And one of the main ones was crossdressing. Here was something I used to like a lot - but had put way up on the back shelf due to it not fitting into my busy life. For many reasons. But heck, somehow I had morphed into an old retired guy. Was it even feasible at this stage of the game? Then I stumbled upon CDH…lo and behold- old guys wearing dresses!🥰 I thought…I can do that. So I resumed and what a godsend of a hobby it has become. Now I have plenty of time for it as well. Time is what becomes your most precious asset at a certain point of your life. I try not to waste any of it by going along to get along. Not anymore. Life’s too damn short.🥰

(Thanks for prompting me to do a deep think while I sip my coffee this morning. And ever so slowly too.😉)

Good morning Grace.  I did a 10 day stretch back about a year ago if I can include the time I spent hanging around the house in a bra, panties, slip and kimono.  Loved every minute of it.  Of course I was fully dressed for a few trips out shopping.

@gracepal as a near full-timer, I will refer to my first extended 24/7 experience.   I enjoyed 13 full uninterrupted days and nights en femme.  I had already been out and about quite often, but previously had to shed my female attire at the end of each day.  I came out to several friends en femme and even attended a meeting with a business colleague.  So by the end, I guess you could say I was committed!

@gracepal It really was a chance to confirm that this was the life I wanted to lead.    It has not been a straight line or smooth sailing over the past dozen years, but I am happy being able to live much of my life as a woman.

@gracepal I did about 8 hours out one day and almost 11 one day when I stayed in.  It’s really fun to get all girly, but I’ve learned that I can only take so much of it.  I guess that was my realization from joining here.  I’m not sure I’d enjoy getting all girly so many days in a row.

My inclination is very similar to Jennifer’s.  I find if I engage too much in my crossdressing, I get tired of it. Dressing up is an intense and immersive experience for me. I can only take so much.

Keystone was a couple of firsts for me. I don’t think I’ve ever gone two days in a row dressing up. So that was new. Plus, on Friday, I was dressed up for a total of 8 1/2 hours. That was easily a record for me.

Keystone was wonderful. Days later, and I’m still basking in the glow of it. But right now, I have zero desire to dress up. That desire will come back, obviously. But at the moment, I feel that I “got it out of my system” for a while.

@theunrealangelawagner Well said, Angela. It is an intense and immersive experience. On top of that, Keystone for me is incredibly social. I love that about it, but it's also exhausting. I've now had about a dozen 2-3 day stretches of dressing 24/7 and by the end I'm done for a while. I always think it would be nice to go longer, maybe a week, but the shaving alone is too much. 2-3 full days is the sweet spot for me.

@theunrealangelawagner - sure. Keep it fun if that's what it is for you. When we do too much of anything all of the time it can feel like a chore - or just cease to be fun. I love my time dressed, but am just as happy not dressed. I don't mean undressed Dreamy I just mean 'not dressed'.

@gracepal I am roughly 90% en-femme. Always dressed en-femme in the mornings 100% of the time. Looking back, I may have only been "dressed" around 10 days in a row. I'm at a point where I view my male mode as "crossdressing". My mind is set on female mode, my attire is almost always female, I'm out in public and in business as female thus, when in male mode I'm crossdressing. Just my thoughts.....

@aflower Different paths; same results. 🤣 I've been "under" since the 11th; thought I saw gaps in between social outings, when I'd defer to boy mode. But da*n; every morning, I reach for my panties instead of briefs, then everything else follows 🤣  I even am able to do fitness class en femme everyday...my instructor and classmates love it! Might just continue well into next month...Just Saturday night, I snagged a last-minute front row seat for a Carl Palmer (ELP) concert...and yes, did THAT en femme! Much "edgier" that way! @gracepal Typically I go 3 or 4 days. We did a week long "girls only" vacation a few years ago and that gave me an experience I'll never forget. We traveled all over New England for 8 days and I brought nothing male with me.

During Covid lock down I also did a week here and there as there was nothing that required me to change back.

@cherylt “Nothing male with me.” Them’s scary words for me Cheryl😊. Although as I think about it, a lot of my “male” attire comes from the ladies department now. Which I derive great satisfaction from for some unknown reason. Allegiance to the cause when I can’t fully dress? Who knows, but it is nice to hang out with my bro’s knowing I’m getting away with something🤣. And of course they’re clueless about it. (Unless they’re not…😊)

@gracepal Same here. All my jeans are of course from the women's section, most of my tops, all my underwear including socks. Even drab I'm 75% femme and no one notices.

@cherylt One of the small pleasures in life is wearing women’s jeans. They look like jeans and stretch like leggings. Some tennies, underwear and women’s tees - bam! You’re in drag with nobody the wiser. Women do it daily with our apparel and we can do the same with theirs. Which is how it should be to begin with.

Well it would have to be Keystone. Arriving on Wednesday afternoon in drab. Got all checked in. Then got dressed for the first nights dinner out. Basically stayed dressed everyday and night until very early Monday morning when I pulled into my driveway!

The time before that was at the Atlanta Confort Conference last August. Drove there enfem spent 4 days enfem. Drove back home enfem.

Spent yesterday afternoon doing errands enfem.

@gracepal Probably total a day and a half .  Especially sleeping I have tried over and over I just cant sleep in femme.  I always hope that it will inspire dreams of the like  but no matter what I do I very rarely dream In Femme . probably my male subconscious is still holding out after all these years. ah well. better to live it than dream it. @river So true RC. I have this vision of myself sleeping in a frilly pink nighty. Have tried it a couple times in my crossdressing adventures. I always wake up and think heck, I can’t really enjoy it fully since I sleep through the whole thing!🥰

I always revert back to my go-to ensemble of boy short panties and a tee shirt.👩‍🦳

@gracepal I’m in an unusual position of being alone for most of the week, and am excited about the prospect of spending much of it dressed in some various women’s clothes I’ve gathered over time. The first time I put on a dress was the first time I loved my body and thought it was hot, and didn’t care if anyone else agreed. That was 10 years ago, at age 55.

@wonderer I try to dress in the manner of girls looks that I’ve always admired. But I’m also an old guy who’s heyday was the ‘80s and thus those styles are dated if one is trying to look current. It’s always nice to get compliments from others but it’s mainly me I have to please🥰

@gracepal - even women can't wait to get 'out of girl mode' sometimes - or even often. I think many women have been pushed into acting out a set of standards about appearances that many can't wait to shed. It's no wonder it's a relief to get out of those heels, get the mask off, not worry about the hair etc. And of course, they won't even have to worry about shapers, prosthetics, wigs etc. Full on dressing is what we crossdressers love to do, but I'm with you; there comes a time to get it all off, relax, and do a bit of digging in the garden.

@gracepal What a cool twist. I thought this was going to be about how long can you last in boy clothes before you feel like you need to cross dress. But it’s the opposite! Neat!

My first answer is, “I’d love to find out,” but I will say this. There have been times when I’ve gotten to dress freely for most of a day and night and I’m ok returning to boy mode. That said, shedding the girl to return to the boy usually makes me sad and wistful.

But there is relief from kicking off the heels and removing the bra after many hours of wear. Of course, that means I just need to go to something more comfortable, and who doesn’t love a pretty little chemise?

Last year I went out of town for work, and it lasted over a weekend. Other than the times I was at work, which didn’t include the weekend, I was always in girl mode. It was absolutely glorious to just exist … as my feminine self … with no worries or cares.

Because I usually have to dress in secret, I’ll also say that returning to boy clothes can be a “relief” that I made it through a session without being caught…

@stephishis Oh I think we all know that feeling Stephanie. I just got done with my latest session and I astound myself the way I flounce around in front of windows just begging to get caught! (I have two very close nosy neighbors) Why do we do it? Who knows? 5 plus hours this time though. And I’m taking off my outfits and then, WTH, couple of cheesecake shots while I’m partaking😝. Not safe for CDH🤪!

Before my last trip to Dominican Republic , at home , I never have had more than 6 hours en femme in my house with my daughter aside me.

But now , I have had 12 hours as Odeth for over 3 weeks in a row in this recent trip, I can't deny, if the trip wasn't for work, I could be en femme 24/7 at the Hotel and outside if is possible ....I loved it!!!!

I recently did 4 days.  My wife went out of town and I shopped, did housework and slept as Diana the whole time.  I even went out to a museum with a fellow crossdresser.  It was blissful.

Hhhmmm... good question - and I'm not really sure what the answer is!  At least partially dressed, about three days, but fully dressed - errmmm... about 12 hours maybe?  I'm still not comfortable being out of the house - there's no way on earth I could ever pass, and I doubt anyone would ever fail to recognise me as actually being my male personna.  Maybe time for me to get a little braver and defy the neighbours ?  Perhaps - but how do I defy the wife?...  Alice XXX

When I lived alone there were times where I tried spending full days en femme.  I did things like put every last stitch of my male clothes in the washing machine so that the only thing I had to wear was my feminine clothing.  The longest I have lasted?  Probably somewhere around 6 hours.  8 would be a stretch.

Other than bed time (just underwear), the longest I've gone completely female is 3 months!. It was possibly longer. I regularly go weeks in Cerys mode. The past few weeks it's been two days fully, one day hybrid, one day male. This week, the plan is to be Cerys full time. My wife is away so I can get up, shower, shave and do my hair without disturbing her.

@dazzler I don’t think I could do 3 months even if I was being paid. I know I couldn’t. 🤣

@gracepal It became normal. I'd get up and be Cerys. I'm not working, so I had the time to get into Cerys mode. It would be different if I had to be in work by 8AM. Lately, Cerys has been an effort. Some days I can't be bothered, and go drab because it's so much easier. As a rule, I dress smart, but comfortable. I'm very comfortable as Cerys. Once she is "created" I'm happy to stay as her all day. There are times when I'm more comfortable as Cerys. I prefer female clothing. It's more comfortable than male clothing. If I can be bothered with the ritual of creating Cerys, then Cerys it is. I could go a few days, or a few months. That's the joy of being a free to do as I please crossdresser. It's great! 🙂

When I dress up completely I wear a tight corset so I don’t think I could stand that for more than about three hours.

@kerrismith Some of the girls there were definitely heavily layered up. It would be tough to maintain I would think.

Although I'm full-time and I don't wear a stitch of male clothing except for socks (to get my size), I'm not always in my full femme.  Many weekdays I'll log on to work unshaven, and my hair often doesn't go on to complete my transformation until late morning.

That said, I won't go out anywhere without being in girl mode, except when seeing my parents, or on the day of a laser session on my beard, for which I have to be at least 24hrs unshaven.

@finallyfiona That’s interesting you mentioned socks being your only male clothing item Fluff. Although socks are about as unisex as it gets, I just have to have  a woman’s version when I wear them. One of those little things - since black socks are pretty much black socks. Men’s or women’s. I gotta buy the women’s no matter what🥰

The longest I've been is a few days. This was years ago though when I was in my late teens/early twenties and was big into my dressing. Plus I still lived with parents so could only dress when they went away for weekend breaks (which was actually quite frequent), so I would dress for entire weekends.

Since moving out into my own home, I'm much more casual in my dressing and the longest I've gone is a few hours. Perhaps the freedom of being able to dress whenever I want dims the desire to dress. The passion for ladies clothes is still there though!

@charlotteheart There’s something to be said about “freedom to dress whenever” taking away some of the desires. True I’d say. When you’re in stealth mode and in the work world - you grab opportunities where you can. When those restrictions are gone you may not do it as often - but you can really enjoy it more completely than before. I feel I’m gaining a deeper understanding of it in my retirement.

@gracepal Oh I'm still in the work world, and don't get to WFH much. Interestingly when I was WFH during the pandemic I dressed much more, same a couple of years ago when I had a two week stint of WFH due to building work at home, once the builders had gone for the day I would dress for the rest of the work day.

@charlotteheart Well Charlotte I just realized WFH is “ work from home “ which did not exist not too long ago when I was still part of the rat race. It has to be a plus if you’re a crossdresser 🥰

I regularly dress 24/7 for 10 to 12 days but once i did it for 15 days, I really dont get tired of dressing. I do get a littler tired of hotels and restaurants.

@robertaf Dining out in restaurants ain’t what it used to be and neither are hotels for that matter. I had barely set my bags down after checking into KS and I get a text wanting me to “rate my experience so far.” Good grief! I thought, well, so far I’m freezing. The coffee situation isn’t looking promising, (No Keurig) and I don’t see a microwave. In a suite. So, I better not “rate my experience” quite yet.

Funny too, my Uber driver said on the way over: “I don’t know what brings you to Harrisburg but if you’re looking for excitement, it’s not here. This place is so boring!”

I guess it depends on your definition of the word “boring”🤣🥰

I don’t see a microwave

If you looked in the "drawers" in your room, some weren't drawers at all. One was a mini-fridge, one a safe, and I believe I saw a microwave too.

Perhaps it's not the place so much as the people you are with.

@alison-anderson I went through every drawer, no micro. There was one by the front desk with popcorn next to it though. Figured it was complimentary for guests but didn’t partake.

I did notice out the window of my hotel room a park and a baseball field on an island in the middle of a river. Wouldn’t mind playing a game there sometime😎

@gracepal That will be nice, Grace. Although I have been retired from softball for many years and from baseball even more.

@firefly OMG Gisela…How about a CDH softball game? Now there’s a fun fantasy…no heels though. ( Bad for base running)

@gracepal Do we have to (or maybe get to) play in the dresses they wore in "A League of Their Own?"

@gracepal Great! I have seen really beautiful women's uniforms to play softball and baseball. We can take ideas from "A league of their own". I love that film!

@firefly Never seen the movie myself. Fun to imagine - but a crossdressers softball game at that field in front of the hotel would go viral. Nevertheless I like Melodee for 1st base and batting cleanup😎

Im happy to say my longest was this weekend at KS. I arrived Wednesday afternoon in drab, and quickly felt out of place seeing all of the gorgeous ladies surrounding me. I ran up to my room and extracted my femme self from several suitcases(I never understood why my wife needed so much stuff, guess I do now lol) and rushed off to dinner. I remained in femme all weekend, and even for the drive home yesterday, so I guess we can call that 4 days total.

As I saw someone else mention, I really thought after 4 days of waking up and going through all the necessities to be a lady, shaving, makeup, etc. Walking around in heels and trying to remember to keep my knees together when setting, that I would be tired of being in femme, and ready to take a nice long break. But instead, I find myself thinking about what a great weekend it was, and trying to figure out when I can make it out again

@desireenicole That is fantastic Desiree. Somewhat mirrors my experience. I bailed on my heels as my feet kept coming out of them. I opted for comfort with my flats…(hey, just like a real girl would!) I tried to keep things as simple as possible for the most part. If it gets too involved I’ll lose interest quickly. I know that about myself. Yesterday when I waited for an early morning Uber, a fully-dressed-still, girl from the conference caught her Uber right before me. I thought, seems so natural to see crossdressers coming and going now. I’m going to miss them when I get back to everyday life.

@gracepal it was so amazing being in a space where it was just the norm to see girls like us all around, myself and a friend were discussing that very thing Saturday night, how weird it was going to be to go back to normal life. This was my first Keystone, and it far surpassed any expectations I had

@desireenicole Same here Desiree. I may have to make Keystone an annual thing. It is funny how one event like Keystone can really change your perception of things. But I suppose that’s the whole idea, is it not? It really reinforces my views of the fun and harmlessness of it all. Calling society! Relax and go with the flow….🥰
