I decided to mow the back yard since the evening was so nice and it would rain tonight. Since I was already in a cute pair of shorts, loose and colorful, I tried to ignore the temptation to wear a skirt instead. I hadn't bothered with makeup or hair. First, there was the possibility of being seen by my neighbor up on the hill across the street, or by cars seeing through from the side yard to certain spots in the yard. Then I was thinking, what woman wears a skirt to cut grass? Isn't that a little weird? But I picked out a simple black skater skirt which might pass for shorts from a distance. I started to back out and go for a pair of koulots (sp?), but this urge was really strong. The skirt it was!
It only takes about a half hour to cut that section. I didn't see my neighbor in the yard, and I couldn't hear the cars going by. But it felt so good to feel the skirt against my smooth legs.
Living alone, I get to dress every day. With Healthy at Home, I miss my support group gatherings at a restaurant or for a meeting en femme. I'm thinking that a total dress up and going out for a leisurely drive in my car might be in order, just for the feeling of being out and about.
My theory is that we take risks because we WANT to be SEEN for who we are. There was a certain thrill to that possibility while mowing the yard, along with the wonderfully feminine feeling that only a skirt can provide. Where will it take me?
That thrill and desire to dress up can be irresistible.Wearing a skirt to cut the grass sounds pretty good to me. Why not? Dressing up and going for a drive is always fun and exciting. So is finding places to stop and get out. Being seen just enhances the fun and excitement.
I regularly go out in my yard dressed, but not in a skirt yet. usually on a top and leggings with knee high boots or heel booties. I don't think the neighbors have ever seen me and I don't particularly care if they do... it'll give them something to talk about.
I have been going out in public periodically for years. I dont drive or shop close to where I live. Once i was driving on a parkway and I saw my brother driving a few cars in front of me. I pulled over on the shoulder and waited a few minutes and then proceeded driving. It was scary but i got over it. I love going out enfemme. It feels so wonderful to be myself. I dont worry about getting read, I just enjoy the experience.

I haven't cut my own grass since my bypass surgery in 2012, but I do out in back (and sometimes front) to water the plants and feed the stray cats who hang around.
The truth is, what woman wears a skirt at all any more?...but like you, they have a magnetic attraction for me, and I can often be found in one. Probably been seen, and maybe I do want to be, but I no longer worry about it, it just feels so "right". I even add my wig and light makeup for short trips to the market, now.

I have been out dressed many times. I always feel fear as I'm about to go out. More often then not, the fear paralyzes me and holds me back. It often takes several failed attempts before my desire pushes me through the fear. Once I'm out, the fear goes away and I become excited, really enjoying the femme experience. It's such a thrill and rush that I can't get from anything else.
I know if I can only get through the fear, I will experience the excitement, thrill and rush. But it's not easy. I so envy those who have become comfortable going out and don't have the anxiety I feel.

If you look on fictionmania, there are thousand of stories with the Mind Altered/Hypnosis/Brainwashed theme. I think that speaks to the thought in your last paragraph. We all want to experience the thrill of being seen as a female, and the stories in that tag let us experience it (albeit in fiction) in a way that's "not our fault."
