last weekend I finally had the opportunity to get out with 5 other girlfriends from CDH. I honestly wasn’t sure I could do it, but with the encouragement of the girls, not only did I do it, but I had so much fun. My only other outing was to a meetup at a bar where I went out with 3 other girls. I was only seen by a few people that weren’t crossdressers. So, this time I went with the group into a very crowded mall, where I was seen by several hundred people. The amazing thing was, that as others have said, no one paid any attention to us, we just had a good time eating lunch and shopping. All in all I was out with the group for about 7 hours. I got so comfortable out, that I can’t wait to do it again. It’s so much more fun than dressing alone at home. I hope everyone has the same opportunity that I had to see the big beautiful world out there.

I'd LOVE to do something like this, even if I was terrified about the prospect in advance.
If you follow the conversations on the Forums you'll see that there are murmurings about getting a small group of UK CDH girls together in Leeds at some point in the future. Whether anything comes of this, time will tell ...

@ellyd22 I can’t say I wasn’t terrified Ellie, because I was, but it was so worth it. I know that’s what everybody tells you, but they are so right, nobody cares and you can have so much fun.
Fantastic, Jennifer, well done you and the girls! I'm so pleased you all had such a great time! I can well imagine it must have seemed really scary at first, with all those people about. It's great to get out and about, and even better in the company of friends.
Good for you Jennifer! I'm so happy for you! Meeting up with friends is so much fun. Bringing Jennifer to life! Once you get over the jitters it becomes so easy to just walk out the door like every other gal doing her business. Nobody pays attention. You'll start to notice little affirming things people do. A small nod, a smile, doors being opened, feminine pronouns, compliments, etc. After a while you'll realize what terrified you has become routine!

@jennconn Dressing alone at home is always nice. Going out takes the dressing experience to whole new levels. If you can get the desire, nerve and opportunity to do it, it's an exciting and thrilling experience like nothing else.

Isnt it great fun being a girl out in the world doing all those things you could once only dream about, and then finding out that no one is taking any notice of you and the world keeps going around.
We are truly our own worst enemies and you have proven to yourself now that you can beat the enemy inside and so the door is now open for you to continue your journey into the wonderful world of feminine shopping with everything that entails. Shopping for lingerie and shoes, clothes and accesories - going for lunch dates and coffee mornings.

i am so happy you had a fun outing with some other girls. Being alone in public can be very intimidating. I wish I could find a girlfriend or two in the Rockford area to spend time with. Have fun with your friends girl!
@kerrismith I got tired of waiting for someone else to be available, so I just went by myself.
it’s really not worth waiting. Take yourself out somewhere small and easy. You’ll be better company if you ever do find another girl close enough to you to go out too.
just go, it’s not like being in the infantry. No one will shoot at you. I know you want to go.

It’s such a wonderful feeling to get out like any other lady, I have been now getting out with the general public for about 3 years, my only regret is not having done it many years ago, too afraid. I have actually been to church for Sunday mass and shopping center many times. I have noticed a few times when a woman will take a second look, nothing else. I think people in general don’t pay much attention, I dress to blend in for the occasion. I have seen some girls dress way too sexy if you understand what I mean. I regularly use the women’s restroom, no problem there either, I don’t consider myself that I look like a natural woman, but I do my best to act like one.
I really hope that I can encourage many of you to try, it’s such a wonderful feeling.
Congratulations, Jennifer! Wishing you many more such adventures. The world is so much more accepting than it was even a few years ago, and it keeps getting better. Some cities have Meetup groups for CDs and TGs that offer opportunities to dress and meet others in a friendly environment. Those can be a great starting place for anyone who's nervous about going out en femme for the first time.
