Just sorting my stash out.... I have over THIRTY skirts. Most of them far too short for a person of my age! This tally does not include those in my "Take to charity" bag.
There are two more on their way. One coming to the house, the other to be collected from a pick up point later today or tomorrow.

I have 15 dresses that I wear.... Another 5 or 6 that a man in his 50s should not even have considered ordering. These are in the charity bag too, but might not even be suitably for charity 🙂

8 pairs of shoes ranging from trainers to 6" heels.
2 pairs of boots, one knee high, the other ankle.

A small mountain of tops, blouses and jumpers that I'm afraid to count!
Numerous pairs of leggings, trousers, jeggings etc.

I think it's time for a cull, but I've recently been made unemployed, and it's not fair to expect my wife to fund my "Habit" 🙂

Why not consider doing a car boot or sell on Gumtree or E bay? That could raise a few funds if you are short.

I dread to count my clothes.

I'd rather charity benefit. We're not skint. My wife is the breadwinner. I'll cut back my spending as it's not fair that she works seriously hard, and I spend her money. 🙂

Too many fem clothes? Too many of everything? Send them all to me! Would be nice if CDH had some way for us to trade, barter, and exchange our fem stuff. A CDH thrift store like Habitat for Humanity for crossdressers.

Dressed, you probably look to be in your 30's, and could wear anything which is not outright slutty. We all have at least one thing we like, but would never dream of wearing out in public. For me, it's a pair of pleather Daisy Dukes. Totally unacceptable for an elderly lady such as I, but I couldn't pass them up in the store.

Hugs,
Bettylou

Well I think  I have  one  skirt to  every pair of men's pants  but  if I add in the  short  cute  ones  it makes the  ratio  one and half  to every pair of men's pants

Last year I went a little more than 9 weeks without wearing the same dress, skirt/skort or top (not counting exercise clothes).  And that's not counting formal wear, party dresses, maid dresses or other such items.  And I've gotten a few more items since.

I understand not wanting to spend too much if you're only on a single income.  But if it were the other way around, you wouldn't expect your SO to avoid spending anything.  If you keep purchases rare and inexpensive (clearance racks or thrift stores), or save up for something (I've saved coins or small value paper money at the end of a week for a long time so I could purchase something big without impacting the budget), then an occasional item isn't being unfair.

I think I have about as many skirts and dresses - 25.  I probably have 10 pair of shoes, 10 bras, 50 panties, 15 pantyhose, 10 garters and stockings, 4 breast forms b,c,d, dd.  I don’t have near this many clothes in drab.  Why on earth would I want this many femme clothes?  Why do we as crossdressers enjoy so many types of clothes?

My wife hates buying clothes. She only does so when when she needs to. She mainly works from home so she doesn't have to buy work wear etc.
I very rarely buy anything expensive. My max is £20 and that doesn't happen very often. Usually it's £5 or £10. Thanks to shops like Primark and the internet, you can get great stuff for little money. Even so, I don't need anything. I'll treat myself no and then. Keeps it special.

Well, you have me beat with the numbers, but I think I know a bit what you are feeling. I have several skirts that I absolutely love, but know that I really can't pull off at my age. I've questioned myself, am I drawn to them because I never got the opportunity to experience the fun college years as my feminine self, or express that young, wild part of me?

Regardless, I love these short skirts, and now find myself wondering if I could get by with integrating them into a Halloween costume or something to get out of the house in them.

Part of the reason for the extensive wardrobes just might be the enjoyment of shopping itself in addition to viewing the massive retail offerings women enjoy, in contrast to men's clothing. I certainly enjoy that particular aspect of expanding my wardrobe. It is hard not to divulge into purchasing one item at a time and over to extend the enjoyment. LOL!
My enfemme wardrobe is not extensive by any means in fact, it is quite small. There is no reason for any angst over the size of our female wardrobes. Just think back on how much fun it was in a retail store or online viewing the different styles and colors before the actual purchase. Not trying to be a psychologist on this topic at all - just revealing the fun I have experienced purchasing new clothing with all the options and of course girls, new heels!
I wear very, very, short skirts out in public so if anyone has some micro-minis I will take them! 😂
How large are makeup kits?
