I decided to try something new today and that was go to the beach and walked the boardwalk dressed up. I wore a nice top and skirt and I just walked the boardwalk with no stares, no laugh, no snide comments, and I just minded my own business. It was such a nice day out too! Glad I managed to conquer my fears and do this.
@hollywilliams13 Maybe TMI but which boardwalk? I personally love Wildwood NJ boardwalk. but never considered bringing River there. 🙂 RC
Oh, well done Holly, I love that feeling of finally, freedom to be out and yes, proud! You go girl! The hardest part is now over, the next time will be just as much fun but way less stressful.
I have a similar little story of only my second ever outing, yesterday… My outfit today was more suited for a walk than my usual high heels and short skirts. So, without attracting too much attention, I wore a long denim skirt, black ’hose, red sneakers, a red sweater under a jacket with a honey blonde wig and full makeup. And a shoulder bag. But I was soooo scared, when I tried to get out of my car I found I was trapped…forgotten to take off my seatbelt! Ok, that was embarrassing. Also, my denim skirt is a full button up type so found I couldn’t drive as my legs were too restricted, so had to unleash my legs up to the third last button! But that felt great also. The drive and walk was amazing and soooo freeing. Initially I felt scared but after a while I stuck my breasts out, made up and wigged head held high and felt wonderful.
Then being on such a high after arriving home, I decided to stay dressed and wait for the Amazon delivery driver. I was planning to sweetly greet him at the door and even had a line ready “ see, this is what all your parcels had in them, thanks for bringing them to me”. Then twirl! I know, corny!
Sadly he was late and my wife was due home so had to abort. That said, upon consideration he probably would have told all my neighbours on his next delivery round about the scary, middle aged hussy next door!
Anyways, I guess I am saying, who cares, let us all be free to live and dress how we want and need and desire to.
Good job! It sounds so simple, but it is one of the hardest things to do.

Good for you. It sounds like it was wonderful. To be ablet o walk on the boardwalk listening to the waves and seagulls, feeling the ocean breeze on your legs. I hope to experience that one day. Hope you have more days like that to enjoy.

I have done this a few times, both on our local esplanade and on a local sand beach. It is freedom personified.
