I woke up Monday, excited that I had a slow day at work, my wife would be out of the house all day, and my favorite thrift store has dollar Mondays.
Experience has taught me that the key to not wasting CD time is to maximize time by having an outfit ready to put on and timing shaving and showering well.
After doing a few hours of work, I shaved (just my chest and armpits), showered, and put on one of my favourite shopping outfits: tank top, short shorts with leggings under, a few pieces of jewelry, ballet flats, and a small purse. I decided to be a bit more girly wearing a bra with the straps showing where the tank top reveals a bit of back and arms.
I reached my favorite thrift store and started browsing. I found several dresses and bras, then wandered to the random stuff collection.
An older lady noticed me, and commented first on how how she liked my ballet flats. Then she looked me up and down and said how much she loved my outfit and that I looked good in it.
Time froze, the sky turned pink, I felt....really good, normal, me.
I complimented her on her shoes, and we both continued shopping. I had even more good luck, found a pair of push up pad bra inserts, my first.
Got home and squeezed in 2 dress up sessions between breaks at work. The bra inserts gave me an outline of cleavage that looks so excitingly, yet subtly feminine. My new bras fit well, with a new dress too. All used and just a couple dollars each.
I fell asleep last night dreaming of how I would write this post. It was a good day.

What a wonderful day for you. That was nice that the lady complimented you ono your outfit. I just started thrift shopping and find it top be fun and exciting. The first couple times were with my wife and the last couple times I've gone by myself. I've gotten some dresses, tops, a pair of booties and a pair of thigh high boots and just the other day I bought 2 pair of clip on earrings. Good luck in your future shopping adventures.
XOXO

Congratulations Lea on a wonderful day, may you have many more Lea days.
It is so affirming to get compliments.... Glad you had a fine day... Staci
Congratulation Lea! I love how women complement each other and it's so nice being on the receiving end. I remember the first time I got a complement from another woman. She told me she though my booties were really cute. Amazing gender euphoria moment!
There's nothing better than to get a compliment from a random person. I was leaving a shopping mall, when I walked past a girl sitting on a bench and she said to me That's a lovely skirt that your wearing I turned my head in her direction and smiled at her and said. Thank you to her. It made me feel so good to be noticed and complimented on my skirt and it put a little bounce in my step as I continued walking past her to my car.
Those little compliments sure make the day. I take them in any,.or all, of several ways. one, they just like the outfit, two, they know we are a CD and affirm it is okay, three, both.
I tend to think it is three most of the time, as up close I am marginally passable.
So glad for you Lea. It is such a high to get a compliment like that. The first time or two I got one I was just so stunned I didn't know how to react. Now it is a HUGE smile and a thank you.

It is so cool the way women compliment each other. I’m glad you had a wonderful shopping trip. Earlier this week I had a cashier at the grocery store compliment my dress and then another one over heard the first one and made a follow up compliment. In these situations I try to return the compliment but how do you compliment grocery store employees who must wear a uniform?
I've noticed that nails, hair, and makeup, or even a smile add a unique element to a uniform, I see would compliment those.
It totally makes my day when I receive a random compliment from a woman. I have been complimented many times as I have been out and about in public. I have received compliments on everything from my shoes to my clothes and my make up. I find it exhilarating. It affirms my femininity. I also look at being addressed as ma'am and miss as compliments. Although don't look at myself as passing (or sometimes not even blending in) it reinforces my feminine side and makes me feel more confident as a woman. It really boosts my confidence. I have noticed that women compliment each other more than men do. That makes getting a compliment from a woman even more affirming because it lets me know that I am being seen as another woman and not just a man in a dress.
I can go weeks without a compliment, but I got my second one today. Posted the first one above.
I was in a parking lot and a woman passed me and commented about the dress I was wearing. She quickly followed up with how she likes wearing dresses but doesn’t think she looks good in them. I told she looked good to which she responded by telling me her age (69). From there we had a wonderful conversation of 5 minutes or so. It was so exhilarating and rewarding.
Lea, you keep on doing what you’re doing and enjoy the ride. And thanks for your suggestion.
