Was it painful?
Yes, but it was a momentary pain that did not linger. There were reflexive responses to the pain and in some places it was more painful than others but they were all brief.
Was there any aspect that was pleasurable?
Yes, the feeling as the oil was rubbed onto my freshly waxed legs was very nice.
Would I do it again?
In a heartbeat.
Your own experience might differ from mine but the sensation of smooth arms, legs and torso is something I have always wanted and now I have it so yes, I am going to do it again.

I have thought about doing this as well. But to get that "smooth all over" effect, I'd have to be on the table for a day or so! (lol) One of the negative aspects of my Mediterranian Heritage.

Thanks for replying, Julie.
I was there for an hour and 20 minutes and she removed hairs from my lower back and shoulders that I never even knew were there.
The wax was not like candle wax and it seemed to be exceptionally effective. It went on thin with a spatula and then she used a paper strip to pull it off with the hairs. I saw this while she did my arms and I was sitting down. The actual quantity of hair seemed less relevant than ensuring that she covered all areas. Yes, there were a few hairs that were missed but insignificant considering how much she did remove in a relatively short amount to time.
It would not hurt to ask and see what they tell you in your area.

Painful? - Yes.
Pleasurable? - About halfway thru I get a major endorphin rush from the pain. Can not stop talking. I become a Chatty Cathy. I walk out higher than a kite. I told a couple of Mistresses at a FetLife munch I used to attend about the experience. They looked at each other and smiled.
Do it again? - Hell yes!
BTW I only have her do above the waist. I take care of everything else myself. Now that here in Cali everything is opening again I've already booked an appointment. Gawd I'm a hairy mess.
Be safe. Love and Peace,
Amber
Hi Rowena,
Thanks for the post. I've been curious about waxing, but never gone there.
I use an epilator, and can't deny it can be a bit 'ouchy'. I was wondering if you have experience of using one, and if so how the two methods compare on the pain scale?
Marti x
Hello Marti,
Unfortunately I have not used an epilator myself I cannot address the differences.
What I can say is that today was my first time outside fully en femme. I was wearing a sun dress and my blue bling sandals. The sensation of the warm breeze blowing my dress against my smooth bare legs was amazing.
All the best

Hello Genevieve,
Now you have piqued my curiosity. My meagre grasp of IPL is that it works best with dark hair and pale skin. Is that your experience?
As a senior a lot of my hair is now gray which might make it less effective for me.
It is my facial hair that I would love to remove forever but I suspect that it not going to happen.

Hi Rowena,
I too am approaching dotage... soon to retire but...
While it is true that IPL and Laser treatment work best on dark hair they are still a cost effective way of dépilation. As for facial hair... I’m starting a course of laser treatment for my face this month. The tech that does my laser showed me before and after photos of a gurl with heavy six o’clock shadow. After twelve treatments he hadn’t shaved for a month and looked just great!
Laser works on all different skin shades but that needs to be sorted with the clinic first. Here, in New Zealand, it’s only costing about $15 US a session.
I like shaving... a sort of tradition... but with a face minus pesky stubble that spoils a great lipstick line will be divine!

I get waxed from the waist down about every 5-6 weeks. I enjoy having the girl time with my aesthetician. We talk about aroma therapy and essential oils and family.

I get my brows waxed when I can. So need to get my entire body waxed, as it's getting more difficult for me to shave anymore.
I have been waxing since last November. There are places more sensitive than others. The pain is only a second or 2. But the results are Great. And there is less hair coming back. I hate shaving. lol Hugs
I go back for eyebrow waxing now -- not using the nice tweezer set that I bought -- and they look great. I like the act of shaving my legs, but smooth for weeks sure is tempting. I've been looking into full face waxing since my beard is mostly grey so laser won't work on it. I'm looking for a thorough first person experience. Most of what I find are salon pages that say "it hurts less you think it will" but I want to hear it from those who get it done regularly.
Thank you, Polly.
I think that I should look into that around here and see what it costs and where it can be done. I would be a happy girl if I never had to shave my face ever again. LOL!
Following up on my first waxing experience last week I had my first eyebrow waxing today. As you can see from my picture I really needed it and yes, it was painful because I have thick bushy eyebrows. They have been tamed somewhat but now that there is more definition I have a much better idea of where I want to go with them.
One is lower than the other naturally so I am going to have future waxings try and even out that disparity. This is going to be an ongoing process so I will keep you updated.
Speaking of updates the body waxing is holding up really well. Cannot see any hair regrowth and can only just start to feel it if I run my hand against the growth direction. Worth noting that when doing that it is not that sharp stubble feeling that comes with shaving. More like a soft fuzz instead. Well worth it in my opinion.
FTR the original waxing was in drab but today was en femme. Been out in public twice today and the 2nd trip was to a busy clinic to pick up some meds. Only got one strange look from a very short old lady but I suspect that was because I literally towered over her. LOL! I can live with that.
The meds are to try and deal with my receding hair line so I might just add the updates to this thread in the future. It takes at least 3 months before any progress can be observed. Going to be a long wait. Sigh!
Warm hugs

Rowena, Thank You for posting this topic and sharing your experiences with us.
In brief, almost 50 years ago both of my thighs were burned by very alkali chemicals. When they healed the doctor told me that I would likely have tremendous problems with hair regrowth and possibly ingrown hairs. The doctor recommended that I shave my thighs and I have been ever since, usually 2 or 3 times a week.
My wife has commented numerous times, “Why don’t you get your legs waxed?”
I’m taking her suggestion to heart; when I get my manicure on Wednesday I’ll ask my manicurist if she can recommend a good local salon. My plan is to get a complete leg wax, not just the thighs. My concern was the pain of the procedure but a little pain versus shaving 3 times a week . . . I was pretty much sold, but your story has definitely given me the courage to try it.
I cannot wait to feel the pleasure as I slide my nylon pajamas over my smooth legs.
Thank you.
Hugs,
Joan Marie
