I had a girly evening after work yesterday, full Anna mode.

I had a trail run today. Before a run, most of us don't shower from the practicality of keeping pores clear and putting kit onto dry skin - it will chafe if put fresh onto clammy skin.

So into the start area, there was a distinct smell of Peppered Earth perfume (look innocent, chat to the others, hope no-one notices).

Called to marks and off we go. Very hot, humid quickly sweating hard. Wipe down my face....I've got lipstick down my wristband, I clearly didn't get it all off. Experimental dab of face, no more lipstick trace, twist wrist band so it can't be seen outwardly.

Has anyone else had a near miss?

Anna x

@annaredhead I once showed up at the office with earrings on.  I forgot to take them off and couldn't feel them on me.  My secretary gave me a shocked look and asked why I was wearing earrings.  I was also shocked, and mumbled something about my wife must have been having fun with me.  I know she didn't buy that for a second.  Nothing was ever said after that but I have a feeling that it was probably hot gossip around the secretarial pool.

@annaredhead

I had a friend stopping over. Later on, a bottle of whisky comes out and we turn to the youtube TV app for some music videos. While he's (luckily) struggling to uncork the whisky, I can see the youtube start screen offering me a list of cross dressing videos based on my viewing history. Eek! Why don't the telly controls work when you need them to! But he never noticed.

There's a nice end to the story. I'm out to him now, and he had a good laugh when I told him the tale.

@emmat Ha! the ol' youtube problem, yup, been there, done that. I now have a separate account for my CD/ TG stuff. It saves a lot of explaining 🤣

@annaredhead I was once reviewing some of my photos that I had on line on a flickr account when a workmate dropped my desk. Before I realized it he was eyeing one of my pictures.  I quickly switched to a cover program that displayed over the pictures.  He must of seen my blushing since he said that it was okay that all of the guys look at pictures of cute girls now and then.

He then went on to ask a work question and left.  It took a bit before my heart  got back to a normal rhythm but the workmate did not make any further comments on that day.  He did ask a few weeks later what was the site that I had used to see if he could view some of the other girls.

It was on of the few times that I ever got a compliment from a workmate.

@annaredhead Yes I’ve had a few slip ups over time.  Many years ago I put clear polish on my finger nails and was out playing when one of the girls asked me if I was wearing nail polish. I used the “it’s so I don’t chew my nails” excuse.
Before I came out to my wife and I tried her mascara and eyeliner and had washed it off so I thought, later that day I had the tell tail black clumps in the inside corners of my eyes.
My latest one was while underdressed at work I guess I had worn perfume while wearing a black cami I had on and a co worker came into my office and asked “ do you smell perfume, what girl was in here”.
Just played it off as “ I don’t smell anything. “

@annaredhead too many to recall sadly. Today I’m out so I don’t care anymore.

So many times we'll have come in from a day out and I sit down in the evening and take my makeup off. My wife tends to fall asleep quickly and doesn't see the final result so in the morning, as I'm just about to take the dog out, she mentions that I'm still wearing eye-liner! Hey, I think, it was alright for Gary Numan, but then come down to Earth as he was a rock star and I'm just a local dog-walker in a village where I hide my feminine self (mostly).

I trot off upstairs and remove offending makeup; I so struggle to get eye-liner off. Perhaps I'll become a Gary Numan tribute and bluff it out in future.

@rebeccabaxter Becca, have you tried using makeup remover  cloths? They work so good and leave a refreshing feeling on the face. Scentless too!

@jillleanne My wife has one but I haven't tried it, In general, I don't have a problem with mascara, eyebrow stuff, concealer, foundation etc. etc., but I always seem to leave a faint trace of eyeliner that I have to scrub at to remove. It's odd as my wife uses the same liner and she doesn't have a problem. I'll try her cloth next time.

@rebeccabaxter I use the eyeliners from Costco lately. They sharpen easily and remove easily with a facial wipe.

@jillleanne I had an emergency callout for work on an Anna day recently. Quick change, wipe off makeup and I was on-site in 10 minutes. I dealt with the issue, spoke to the person and left site. Got home, realised I still had eyeliner on. Was it noticed? Who knows....

@annaredhead probably, but my experience is no one really cares. Call me lazy but I often show signs of lipstick when in drab. If someone asks I just tell them it was a wild night. Everyone just laughs it off.

@rebeccabaxter You could do a lot worse than a Gary tribute, legend!

Oh gosh.. a yes to that. I pitched up to work and in the office a girl came up and looked at me quizzically, 'Have you got mascara on?' I mumbled a fumble and she walked away. I carried on for a while and dashed to the rest roo. Yes there were faint traces which were washed away. Only a girl would spot that! Nothing more was said, phew....

I fell asleep with make up on , had a leasurily morning before heading off to a lunch partt with my staff. It turns out I had forgot to take it off in the morning and did not notice it until after I got home. Most off it wore off on my pillpw at night, but there was some eye shadow and liner still visible...subtle, but visible. Nobody seemed to notice, and nothing was ever said.

My staff saw me in my cycling kit regularly since I often cycle to work, so my shaved legs were always plain to see, and I regularly underdressed, so they may have noticed panty or bra lines, so they may have known I dressed. I was one editing some CD pictures of my self when I jad some free time in my office, but I got called away and left my laptop open, but at an angle facing down. I know my receptionist had gone into my office, but whether she noticed or not I don't know. I think she probably did, but never said anything. I am retired now, but still wonder what she saw.

When I was probably 13, I put some sparkly nail polish on my mom had. I got most of it off, but like a day later at school, I looked down at my right hand and saw a bunch of sparkly nail polish I had missed on the cuticles of a couple nails.

oopsie 🤣

These days, I try to be extra careful and observant when removing make up. I wore some sparkly eyeshadow today and before I go to sleep, I will double check everything and make sure I didn’t miss it. I could just see walking into work tomorrow morning into the drivers room and someone noticing that. 🤣🤣🤣

oh Lord, that would not go over well at all there lol. I would never hear the end of it. Ever.

I get almost caught daily. The women I work with surely know something is up. It’s not enough for them to call me a woman, but many are wondering about me. No one says anything. We had a trusting vulnerable moment once and I came out to some. All smiles. One coworkers clearly knows and is casually yet joyous when she compliments me on my girly choices.

Clear nail polish, cute earrings, foundation, women’s slacks and blouses that kinda pass for male, faint lip gloss, shaved legs.

Don’t care.

It all seams like a shocker when it happens, very very embarrassing moment,  your heart races pounds,  !!!

But really it all happen to every one sooner or later ,
Just,  take it for what it is,  learn from it , and move forward ..
