Before I begin, a little background...
I've been keeping my legs shaved for about the past 2 years, year round. I've had my toenails pedicured and polished for about 3 weeks now, pale pink with a little flower design on each big toe.
This past weekend, I went on a fishing trip with my brother and one of his coworkers. At the end of the first day, around 2pm, we drove back to the coworker (I'll call him Jack)'s house, where we were staying, and decided to jump in the pool. My brother knows about my little pink piggies and said it wasn't a big deal to him, even though he's very homophobic and gets weird when I even mention crossdressing. So we swim for a bit, all the while consuming ridiculous amounts of beer.
Jack decides he wants to visit his favorite local watering hole, so we all jump in the truck and off we go. At the bar, everything is going really smoothly. An extremely attractive biker chick was so impressed with my poorly-maintained mohawk that she bought me a drink. I'm feeling pretty darn good about myself.
Still riding high from the gorgeous woman buying my drink, I head outside with my brother and Jack, to have a smoke. After about 2 minutes, some random drunk guy says, loud enough for the entire county to hear, "hey man, are your toenails polished?"
My mind reeled for a split second! How could I, in my slightly intoxicated state, have forgotten to put my socks & shoes back on before we left for the bar?
After about a second, my mind calmed down and my trademark wit returned in fine form. I looked the guy in the eyes, smiled wickedly and replied, "hell yes my toenails are polished! Would you like the address of my nail salon?"
The guy was dumbfounded as everyone else in the smoking area busted out laughing. He didn't say another word to me for the rest of the night.
Too funny......thank you for sharing.
Quick thinking Marika. I'll bet your brother was probably more embarrassed than you were.
I had my own fingernail oops a while back. I've been wearing a sheer pink nail polish. It really adds no color, just makes the nails a little shiny. Hardly noticeable. So I thought.
My band was scheduled to play one Friday night and as the sound engineer it's my job to arrive early and set up. When I walked into the bar, the stage area was completely dark save for one black light on the cieling over the stage. No big deal I thought, I've worked this club a dozen times before, I know where everything goes. So I go on about my business unloading the trailer and getting set up. As usual a few bored patrons are watching me do my thing but this night they seemed particularly attentive. After 10 or 15 minutes of running cables across the stage I happened to look down and disovered what they were seeing...my nail polish was glowing brightly under the black light! I'd been putting on a show with my glowing nails dancing across the dark stage. Fortunately they couldn't see my red face. Quickly regaining my composure I jumped off the stage and went to get some lights turned on. As I walked across the bar I shrugged it off and thought to myself "what do they expect? I'm with the band!"
Funny story. I have been getting a pedicure for past few months and let my SO pick out a color for the first time. She said it was time for me to let my toes match the very girly sandals I wear at home. She also had me get a manicure but went with a glossy clear coat. I got some kidding from male friends but just said I wanted to look well groomed. I adore the bright pink she picked out for my toes. I haven't been seen with that. Lol maybe it`s time. xxx Allyson
