My wife is away for a few days next week. I'll use this time to do the things that I'm not allowed to do normally. Hair, make up etc.
I was out in deivering for the charity I volunteer for and popped into a local Tesco for lunch. I passed down the make up isle... I browsed and decided to buy. I selected a lip stain (hopefully it doesn't last that long), some false eyelashes and some already glued press on nails. All things frowned upon by my wife.
The queue for the self scan checkout was long, but I decided to join it. It came to my turn. I scanned my lunch. Then I scanned the eyelashes, lip stain and nails.... The latter two had security labels stuck to them, so I had to call the assistant over.
She came along, took the offending items away and disabled the security devices. She brought them back and handed them over to me. She remarked how good a colour match the lip stain and nails were. I agreed and said no more. No smirks, smiles or other comments.
I'm looking forward to Tuesday. Shower, shave, hair and make a mess of my make up, as usual 🙂
That reminds of time I went into Walmart and got a couple of bras and panties, when to check out and the male cashier looked at the items, crooked his head and looked at me. I looked him straight in the eye and said " Do you have a problem? just ring it up", which he did.
I went to the drugstore to stock up on tissues (BOGO sale). As many of use girls will do, I opted for the self-checkout. Unfortunately, the boxes of tissue were so light, EVERY. SINGLE. BOX. triggered the need for a visit from a staffer to reset the process, as the bagging scale could not sense when I placed a box in the bag.
I was beside myself, until I notice the young man helping me was wearing a very flowery and feminine mask.
The fear of being judged was replaced by mask envy!
