With the weather warming up I spent part of the day getting some of my cold weather clothes ready to be put back into the closet for summer storage. While in the closet I started pulling out some summer attire one item was A short set that I have had for many years, my wife came in and looked at some of the things I had laid out and said I needed to replace that short set as I had been wearing it for many summers. I told her I liked it so much I didn't want to part with it and she had bought it for me and that made it very special to me. At that she gave up and said go ahead and keep it, but also said we are going shopping tomorrow to find you some new shorts and left me alone in the closet. My mind went back to when I was fifteen and I thought about A blue short set with A halter top that was given to me by one of my sisters friends. I had been dressing for about A year and with the help of my sister and her three friends I had accumulated A very large wardrobe of girls clothes but no shorts. One day my sister and her friends were in the back yard and I was watching them and made the remark I wish I had some shorts like you are wearing, my sister's friend Carol looked at me with A big smile saying "you would look cute in them". About A week later Carol stopped by to pick up my sister and handed me A bag of her old clothes saying there is A lot of things in there I thought you would like. Opening the bag there were two pretty dresses some panties A yellow nightgown and the blue short set. I wasn't long before I had the shorts on with A pair of panties she had given me and putting on the halter top, I was in heaven. Carol was about three years older than me and I had A big crush on her and I loved to wear the clothes she has given me knowing that she had worn them was A supper turn on for me. Many years later I still think of her especially in the summer while wearing shorts. I kept all of her clothes till after I was married and they would no longer fit me, I hated to part with them but they all went to salvation army.So maybe that's why I hang on to things for the memories. Oh well tomorrow we go shopping for some new memories.

Your post Intriued me. It.made me remember a item of clothing that I was totally involved with. It was my sister's multi colored petticoats that she had but I really think that I wore them more than she did. They were the first feminine items of clothing that I tried on. I remember that there were three or them. One was snow white. One was sky blue and the last one was Pink. I would layer them in different ways then look at myself in a mirror and couldn't believe how much I looked like a girl. I still remember that I had to wear a pair of panties so that my male part wouldn't show and also to keep from soiling the petticoats. Here it is many years later and I still get excited when I remember how feminine they made me look. Thanks for reminding me of something that I had forgotten about

You were so lucky to have your sister and her friends support you so early in your life. Your wife also sounds truly wonderful as well. You have really been blessed my friend.
PS - I totally understand your reluctance to part with the pieces of your clothing that have special meaning to you. I have a hard time even tossing a pair of panties out when they have passed their useful life.

Sarasue, I agree with you. As long as the short set isn't tattered, still fits you, and you still like it; the sentimental connection it has for you towards your wife. I'd say keep it.
At the change of seasons my wife helps me sort my old clothes and makes suggestions. She seldom condemns an item until it is too ragged for decency. She always finds a suitable replacement. We have several shorts and tops that I am only allowed to wear at home due to wear holes, I love them for gardening as the breeze can flow free on hot days.
