As some of you might already know, I love the great outdoors. Well, Brother does, and sometimes he takes me along for the ride. But both sides of us agree that we could stand to lose a few pounds (make that kilograms!) and so this past Sunday we headed out to do a little hiking in a nearby state forest. Walking in the woods is one of our favorite forms of exercise.

I didn't dress for this little expedition. The goal was to get outside and enjoy the nice weather for a few hours, and log a few miles on the trail. All in all a productive workout, not too energetic. And a nice scarlet tanager was spotted although I couldn't get a decent photo of it.

Since I didn't go too far afield, I made it home early enough to try on some of the newer things I'd been accumulating lately. So I swapped my hiking boots for some high heels and proceeded to take some photos of myself in my new outfits. I wore three different outfits and I was able to set up on my deck and balcony with the late afternoon sun providing some nice lighting. I live in a condo and so have neighbors on either side of me, but they don't use their outdoor space as much as I use mine. And we all have privacy walls, so If I hear a door open on either side, I can bolt inside before I can be spotted. I suppose if someone down the street might spot me if they happen to be outside themselves, but they'd need binoculars at least to really get a good look. I was safe enough.

I tried lots of poses with all three outfits, and sorted out some of the best to share in the photo forum. I'll get around to that shortly.

As it grew more dark and more difficult to take decent photos, I took a little time in my last outfit to unwind with a little wine and a bit of Nature's Bounty. Which made for a late night and a Monday morning that came way too early, but it was well worth it. I was in that state of mind where you almost can't bring yourself to undress. I prolonged it as long as I could, longer than I should have, no doubt, but dammit! It felt so good!

So ended a satisfying and productive day. Brother had his time and I had mine. And I'm still feeling some of the afterglow.

Another new item arrived yesterday. I'm already making plans for next weekend's adventures.

@rayna Sounds like a great day and evening.  it seems Time Flys by  so fast when Im with River but so slow when not.  It's so difficult to say the nights over I got to go to bed.  Then I got to clean everything up and put things away and wash off the makeup.  By then it's usually 2 am at least and I feel like death warmed over at work the next day.  But it's all worth it 😉  Hope your new items come on time.  Cheers RC

If you have not yet ventured out into nature en femme, try it, the scarlet tanager could not care less. I find people on the trail do not care either and always have a smile or a hello for a passing fellow hiker. People on a trail are out to enjoy themselves, so they are already in a good frame of mind, so encountering somebody en femme just does not seem to register beyond just being a fellow hiker.

@jjandme  I have done so, but only in places where there are no people around and only in places I can park my car and step out for long enough to take a few selfies. I've posted a few in the photo forums.

What you say may be true for California but there are still places here in puritanical New England where I just don't feel comfortable hiking en femme.

Besides, hiking is very sweaty work for me and I don't want to mess up a nice outfit.

And walking on rough ground is murder in heels.

Thanks for the reply, though. I do enjoy the outdoors regardless of how I'm dressed.

@rayna I'm with you there . I go for walks in the woods at night alone but here in rural NE NH I would have to see quite a few of us out there before I was the first.  And Ya sweating is an issue with hair and boob's and all that jazz. for me much better in the winter or Late fall early spring.  Just got back from a walk with the pups. it's such a beautiful day today.

@river There are places in NH that are fairly isolated but there's still a risk of getting spotted. Lots of tourists.

The surest way to attract a crowd is to not want one. Like when you're driving down the road and haven't seen any following or oncoming traffic for miles and you pull over to "water the bushes" and all of a sudden half the world is driving by. A bus full of religious school kids drives by. Your girlfriend's parents drive by. The cops drive by. One of your coworkers drives by. And so on...

And being outside while dressed seems to elevate the risk factor even more.

I enjoy camping on the White Mountains from time to time and I'd love to try dressing up at my campsite. It's hard to find one that's private enough, though. But I think I could pull it off if time it right.

BTW, if you ever want to talk birding, give me a shout. While I have never seen a scarlet tanager, we have western tanagers here, tanagers are my favorite passerines. My wife and I have seen a dozen different species around the world, and as spectacular as the North American tanagers are, they pale in comparison to some we have seen in Asia, Africa and Cental America.

@jjandme  I guess I would call myself a casual birder but I always enjoy seeing a species I've either never seen or seldom seen. My next door neighbors have feeders out, we get the usual run of the mill chickadees, nuthatches, titmice, etc, a couple of different kinds of woodpeckers, and once in a while some Cooper's Hawks patrolling.

I once saw one grab a red-bellied woodpecker right off the feeder.

I really love hawks and owls and eagles.

@ab123 Yes, I felt like I balanced both sides well. It's been difficult to keep my feminine side on check lately. Sometimes I need to get back to doing what I love to do when I not dressing up.

Thank you for all the nice comments and replies,.ladies! It really makes me feel good to be able to share my "secret" life with people who understand it. I wish I'd joined this site years ago.

But no use crying over it, I'm here now and it's been amazing so far

Please be sure to check out my photos from this latest adventure in the Photos forum.
