THE FOUNTAIN

After dinner last night Charles ( my boyfriend ) asked if I'd like to go for a walk in the park . I immediately said yes . I love the park at that time of the day .
I told him I'd be ready in just minutes . Slipping out of my shorts and tank top and into my short black summer dress and high heel sandles . I freshened up my makeup , brushed my hair and put my sunglasses on top of my head and I was ready . I was actually ready before him "this time "
When we got to the park there were quit a few people there . Families sitting on blankets , children running around , senior citizens on the benches and vendors selling ice cream , hotdogs and soda .
We first went to the water front to look at the ships in the harbor . Standing there with Charles with him arm around my back with a slite breeze blowing was so relaxing .
We talked and walked for a while holding hands . We wound up at my favorite place , the fountain . It's beautiful with a lot of flowers . We found an open spot on a bench next to another couple to sit down . We said our hellos and talked about the weather being so nice .
I couldn't believe how comfortable I was and Charles did remark about my smile . When the other couple left Charles leaned over and kissed me . This guy knows exactly when , where and why. I never felt this way about another human being in my life . I put my head on his shoulder and closed my eyes . To think how far we've come in 8 1/2 months is unbelievable .We kissed a few more times before we reluctantly decided to go home .
When we stood up Charles said "you know what " in my little girl voice I said "what "
I Love you
That's the first time he ever said those words to me . I couldn't say anything with this lump in my throat , my eyes pooled with tears . He knew . I kissed him . I kissed him hard .
