I have presenting as Cassie full time over 6 months now and have been working a temporary job at Walmart since February. This past Friday I was assigned to help put our 12 racks of plants. This ment almost the full shift outside, much of it in full sun. I didn't even think about it and got home with red sunburned arms, thank God for the aloe I have. My face should have been similarly burned, but I have been wearing light makeup every day my face was not burned.

Thanks, Cassie, being you saved my face.

Cassie

@loneleycd Oh my Cassie, please do be careful.  I'm regularly seeing my skin doctor now to remove precancerous spots.  He always tells me that I should have worn long sleeves and a hat when I was young but it's too late now.  My face is the worst with multicolored spots and wrinkles like the Mariana Trench.  I wear lots of light clothing coverage for protection but can get myself in trouble with just 10 minutes of exposed sun.  Marg

Oh Dear Cassie that is sad.  Time to cover up in the sun and get yourself some sun block as well.  May help a little if you need to be outside in the sun for longer periods of time.

Hi Cassie,

Seems you’ll need long sleeves now.  Hope the soreness dissipates quickly.

The last two summers I got sunburned or heavily tanned in a single day at the beach. Not so much my face, I guess I'm out often enough. The problem was that I was wearing a woman's one piece bathing suit, and for a few months had the tan lines to prove it. Fortunately no one at work was looking closely at me while changing at the gym. I tended to use a corner locker to hide my naked butt from the thong I was often wearing.

Hi alison. This gave me a smile. I sometimes dream of sun bathing in a bikini top, just to get the tan lines. I'm racking my brains as to how I could explain them away!

Cassie , I can relate to that . Over the last  10 yrs I’ve developed what’s called photosensitivity. Too much sun exposure causes me to break out in a rash mainly on my arms, neck and scalp. It also causes light flu like symptoms. Funny thing is I don’t sunburn easily. Doctors think it’s from over exposure to sunlight. Being a contractor I work outside often and enjoy outdoor activities like boating. I try to wear long sleeves and a hats. I’ve taken this to my cross dressing, many of my tops are now long sleeve.
Getting a full body scan by a dermatologist is a great idea also.

be careful out there sweetie
