Remembering when I was 13 years old, my brother and sister had to go to a babysitter and my mom went to work. I had the whole summer to myself, so what do you think I did you guessed that I dressed like a girl I wore my mom’s four-inch pumps Daily for the four or five hours a day for three months, also dressed up and everything else pantyhose panties bras so forth by the end of the summer I could really walk and high heels as good as any girl or woman. My question is how long did it take you to walk like a woman in high heels ?

Not too long actually. I'm good with heel hight up to 4 inches. I feel I walk more upright in heels. You sure had great head start in your youth. 🥰

@jasminejeffries75 I wore pumps from the time I was 5, until maybe 11. After that, I outgrew the heels I was borrowing. I bought my first platform wedge shoes when I was 17. They were comfortable right away. I went out wearing them many times in femme mode and walked all over in them. Then while wearing them in femme mode, I went out shoe shopping and bought 6 more pairs. They were always easy on the feet and very easy to walk in.

Then at 18, I got my own place, and bought every sexy, femme item I had dreamed abut for years. Sexy dresses, lingerie, all kinds of hosiery and stiletto heels. Most were 5 and 6 inch heels. They were so sexy looking, I just had to have them.

I was mesmerized, wearing them seeing how amazing they made my legs look. Unfortunately walking in them was nearly impossible and even standing was difficult, But I practiced. I stumbled around at first but got better. Then I got dressed femme and began going out walking in them. It took some getting used to and there was times my feet really hurt, but it was worth it to be out looking so femme and sexy.

A few weeks later, I got into one of my sexiest dresses, with a pair of really nice, shiny pantyhose and my favorite pair of stiletto heels. I was thrilled with how I looked. My legs looked incredible, my hair was perfect. I was ready to go. There was a Halloween Party at college. That's how I was going.

I walked from my apartment to my car, drove to the college and parked the car. I had to walk from the parking lot to the building the party was in. It was dark and I had to watch where I was stepping. But I made it to the building ok. I went to the party and danced and stood for most of the night. Then after the party, I walked back to my car, drove home and walked from the parking lot back to my apartment. My feet hurt a bit but not terribly. And the thrill and experience of wearing those stilettos was well worth it.

Throughout college, when I was femme I was pretty much wearing stilettos. $ inch was about the shortest heels I had.

@jasminejeffries75 I started in my teenage years with my mother's and sister's shoes.   My mother's fit better so I gravitated toward them more but I like the style of my sister's better.  I got up to speed fairly quickly just walking around the house in them.  By the time I was about 15, I was into wearing my sister's dresses, panty hose, panties and bras.  At about the same time I tried a little makeup and just loved it.   I really wonder what it would have been like for me to grow up as a girl.   I'm sure I would have loved the discovery girls go through during their teenage years as the transition into womanhood.

A long time ago one of my girlfriends told me to do my vacuuming in my highest heels. I took her advice and after a few weeks, my floors and carpets were marvelously clean, and I was more than comfortable in heels anywhere.

@jasminejeffries75 I have to say I'm not brilliant in heels, although I can dance the night away on my wedges.  I've been out as far as the local postbox on some 3" block heels, once.  That was OK but would have been better if the shoes weren't a Euro size too large for me.  The only pair of properly high heels I had were 5" I believe, I couldn't really handle them and gave them to the studio where I had my makeover in them.  I've since got a pair of 4" heeled ankle boots though, which I might just do the hoovering in, like @geniv_cd suggests 🙂

@annaredhead Yes, that was where the too-large shoes were from!  LTS are the most confusing sometimes because they class UK11 as equivalent to EU44, whereas the real measurement is EU45.  Then because I usually have to size up for width, and I'm guessing they're actually made in Euro sizes, I go for their UK12/EU45.  And it's too big 😖.  But their wedges in an 11E (wide, and actually from a sub-brand, Yours) are perfect!

@finallyfiona That's a shame. I got on really well with their ballerinas, slingbacks, kitten heels and high heeled ankle boots. My other single-coloured heels came from Amazon (Gizelle brand) and they size very well.

@annaredhead Yeah I've got some Gizelles in 46/12, again for the width and the closed toe courts seem fine, although the open toe strappy sandals are a little large.  I also have their 45/11 in strappy sandals and that's spot-on.  I think the moral of the story is, size up for width in closed-body shoes, sandals are OK as they are.

@finallyfiona Ah, that's why I've had no problem, I have never bought any that are open toed. I doubt I ever would - years of being a runner haven't done the appearance of my toes any favours.

@jasminejeffries75 the first time I wore heels was about 10 years ago when I bought my first pair of 5” heels (see my photo of me in the green sequin dress).  I think I walk pretty good in them but can’t imagine having to spend an entire day wearing them lol.   I have another pair of heels that are 4” with a chunky heel and I did spend a few work hours in them and they are quite comfortable.

@jasminejeffries75 I’ve been dressing since very young, and wearing heels (my mum’s and my older sister’s) since about 11 years old….so I’ve had lots of practice.  I am happy in heels up to 5 inches.  I love the way they shape my legs and improve my general posture.  Anything over 5 inches is a serious challenge, and I find they make me unbalanced, and walk with bent knees…as well as quickly hurting my feet - so I stick to 5 inches or less.  Such heels are also more common for women and so I find they fit in society better.

Hugs Christine

@river you’re always wearing at least 4 inch wedges. I’m sure you would handle a pair of 3 inch pumps. You would love to hear them clicking off the floor as you walk make you feel even more beautiful than you already are.

@jasminejeffries75 Well I didn’t use heels at all in the early days.  But once I started wearing them I think I was a natural. First few times my wife seen me in heels she commented on how she couldn’t believe how well I moved around in my heels. She told me I walk better in heels than most of the women at her office. Both her and my sister in law can’t get over how I can wear heels all day while cleaning the house, up and down the stairs doing laundry and cooking full meals. I think the factor that I love heels helps me strive to walk properly in them.

I am one of the lucky ones who have seemed to be a natural.  The first time I wore high heels that were in my size (13 womens) I was able to walk no problem.  It felt so right.  While I prefer 3" heels, I still can rock the 4".  The only difficult is doing down stairs.  That is always something you have to watch yourself on. 🙂

@jasminejeffries75 l can't walk very well in high heels. I have health problems with my legs and as a result it makes in impossible for me to walk in high heels any higher than an inch and the heels need to be reasonably wide

I didn't have that kind of experience in childhood, but when I did start wearing heels, I think it came pretty quickly. My first pair were 3 or four inches, but chunky, so it was pretty easy. My next pair were a spike, and the transition to those wasn't too bad. I think for me, it was pretty easy, actually, because the motion of walking in heels is a little bit like walking in ski boots. The rocking motion is similar. A lot of beginner skiers/high heel wearers try to walk flat footed, and that doesn't work (well, it does, it just looks ridiculous).

I have women tell me often that I walk better in heels than they do.

My tips for heels (if you're new)

1. start with a chunky heel, I think this is more important than the height

2. start with something that has good ankle support, sandals are cute, but they don't hold your foot as well and that can add an extra challenge. My "symphony going" heels have a tendency to let my feet slide down a bit, so there's an extra challenge wearing them. Getting a full coverage, heeled, ankle bootie can make learning a lot easier

3. don't walk flat footed, let your foot rock on the heel as you walk

4. take shorter steps and don't walk as fast as you do in flats or in guy mode, enjoy the slower pace, you'll get faster as you gain practice, but walking a bit more slowly is more sexy anyway.

5. Your posture is a bit different wearing heels by design (high heels are purposely intended to push your chest and your bum out) Don't bend over like an old man on slippery ice. Stand tall, chest out, and you'll walk (and look) better.

6. practice! this is the fun part. The more you wear them, the better you'll be.

@jasminejeffries75 - Not how long to walk like a woman in heels, but how long could I wear them before someone got home. Did not ever have a problem walking like a woman in them, and have been told I am a natural in them.

@gil Patricia, that’s so funny yeah how long can you have your dress pantyhose and high heels on before somebody gets home and you have to take it all off I used to hate that feeling of taking it off in a panic. That’s Why that one summer when I was 13 I was dressed every day for the whole summer vacation lots of fun

@jasminejeffries75 My sister was really my mentor in femininity.  When she discovered my secret she became my coach in all things girly.  She had me walk in heels nearly everyday until I got it down.  It took about two months.

The first time that I wore heels was in the Nordstrom shoe section. No problem. My sales clerk complimented on me getting up to speed immediately and naturally.

Tip: don't look down at your feet. Look off into the distance, for better balance.

Hi ladies,

I wear 2 1/2 heels every day for several hours. I'm okay, but I feel I am not anywhere as good as a cis woman, like my wife.

@dovemtn2016 Lots of CIS women don't wear heels, never have. My wife and a local seamstress, for example. They tell themselves that they wouldn't be good at wearing heels. If they never wore them, how would they know whether they could handle them or not?

I can't walk naturally in flats or low heels...not sure why.  4" is the sweet spot for me but I typically wear chunky heels.  An ankle injury from years ago keeps me from wearing stilettos.  I can have my chunky 4" heels on for hours without issue.

I'm usually out doing something, so I've settled in with a 2.5 to 3 inch heel. I can walk all day in them. I save my sexy ones when i have something indoors to do. I have 4  or 5 pairs of flats and 3 pairs of gym shoes but I'm more comfortable in heels of some sort. Regardless on how cute, the trick is to only buy shoes that are comfortable and fit.

.The first time I wore heels they were 3" stilettos. My wife was amazed that I was able to walk in them with no problem. I also have a pair of 4" open toe block heels which I can walk in with no problem but after a short period of time my toes start to bother me. I think it is because of the tightness of the toe strap from my foot sliding down. I have a shoe stretcher that I've used on them but didn't seem to make a difference. Unfortunately don't wear them often enough to stretch them out naturally. When I'm dressed I prefer heels but do have flats and sandals.

XOXO

I'm comfortable up to 5 inches without them having a platform.  It took about a month or so of daily wear for me to be comfortable to walk outside of the house. The biggest issue for me was getting my feet to stretch and pivot downwards to accommodate the 4 inches and above heel height.  I've found wearing 5 inch heels daily inside the home keeps my feet flexible.   After years wearing heels,  4 inch and below heels don't really even feel like I'm wearing a heel anymore.  Feet together, shorter steps, head up, and shoulders back is my mental mantra while I'm walking.  I've walk this way all the time now even in drab/underdressed.  I believe it gives you better posture overall.  Over the years I've had female friends and acquaintances ask if I took ever had dance lessons because when I walk, I don't "clod" up and down like a typical guy.

Unfortunately, most genetic women wear heels based on fashion and not common sense. Any closed toe heel, especially the ugly pointed witch toe style is not for long term wear. Even while sitting, the vamp is crushing your toes while walking is going to force your foot deeper into the vamp. Any shoe without a platform is going to flex as you step, which will make it much more unstable. The benefit of a platform is both stability and less of an angle for your foot.

I can wear a 6" heel, and do, with a 2" platform and it is the equivalent of a 4" heel with more stability. Another mistake by most women is wearing pumps without a strap and expecting your foot to remain inside the heel. I only own two pair of pumps, and they are for short term wear or sitting. Slides are not a good choice as walking in heels requires you to trust the heel, regardless of how narrow it may be. That is tough to do when the heel is able to move left or right.

Other than a collection of ankle booties and other boots, almost all of my heels are open toe, platform with functional ankle straps. I am an admitted shoe addict, and my collection is hovering around 75 pair. Over the years I have progressed through super sexy heels that were absolutely painful to wear, to a quest to only keep sexy, unique, and most importantly, 'wearable' heels.

Another interesting fact is the difference in size as to the style of shoe. Even though I wear a 10.5 in US mens size, I wear a US womens size 11 in most brands. I find that the tighter fit keeps the heels in place and allows me to walk more confidently. Closed toe heels are always at least a full size larger depending on the brand. I purchase a lot of heels from overseas and when doing so, I used the footbed measurement whenever possible, rather than size. If not available, I wear UK43 in open toe and UK45 in closed toe styles.

One of the absolute best heels for beginners is Pleaser and Ellie. The Pleaser brands are sized even smaller, and the vamps do not stretch, so I wear a 13 in Pleasers. The Ellie's are a bit larger, and I can wear an 11 or 11.5 in those depending on the vamp structure. Both brands are unbelievably stable and durable for beginners.

As for how long it took to walk in heels, I was gifted with a natural ability to do so, much to the frustration of my wife. The good news is my wife has actually used my advice to improve her ability to walk in heels as well.

I found with a low heel I got on with them immediately, never had an issue with 1-2 inch heels. I rarely wear anything more that a 3" heel as I can walk in a straight line in them for a few minutes but that's it.

Hi Jasmine,

It took me quite a long while to get the hang of walking in heels,

As I'm married and still in the closet i had to do it in secret , I'm quite good at walking in heels now, the thing is now if i could master putting on my makeup then that would be quite an achievement,

Due to a nerve problem in one foot, the very highest heel I can wear is in the 2.5 - 3.0" range. Also I cannot wear stilettos' or kitten heels so I wear block heels on all my dress shoes.

I purchased my first pair of heels when I got serious about my dressing.  I was a late bloomer.  I read some articles about how to walk and balance in stilettos.  When I received the shoes, I immediately had to try them out.  They were slightly awkward at first, I believe the description height of the heels was 4.7”.  But it didn’t take me very long to master them.  Looking at the horizon definitely helps.  One good note is that I used to wear a knee brace quite a bit from wrecking my knees skiing when I was younger.  After a while in my heels, my knee honestly strengthened and I haven’t worn that knee brace in years.  One bad thing is that while I do NOT consider my dressing as a fetish, I may possibly have a shoe fetish.  Believe me, if I could easily find my size and had the storage space I’d have 50 pairs of heels.  👠

I’m jealous. I have some pretty serious arthritis issues in both of my knees, my right one being a lot worse after an injury at work a few months ago. I’ve had hammertoes worked on on my left foot which actually made getting into heels a lot better. 3 inch is about the max for me. I have a number of pair of array pumps, that have maybe a 2 inch slightly blocky heel.

Their shoes fit me quite well. 12M. The wide ones are too wide. The really pretty ones I have with the taller heels are difficult for me to walk in because of the arthritis. They look nice in pictures though. I’ll just stick with my array pumps or some flats lol

I did buy a beautiful pair of patent red leather Manolo Blanik BB heels off a lady on eBay. The conversion was about a size 12 and I loved them, but they were too narrow. I had wanted a pair of those ever since the very first time I saw sex and the city so long ago, lol  She was very gracious about allowing me to return them, but we discussed that before I even bought them. If there was any way at all I could’ve gotten into them, I would’ve kept them. They were just absolutely lovely.

God those are awesome shoes!
