Necklace and earrings of aquamarine
Little blue dress with a plunge neckline top
Over silky sleek nylons, fresh from the shop
Long golden locks fall in stylish affray
A splash of Chanel is her feminine bouquet
Finally, oh so excited, but shy
She stands at the mirror with a critical eye
Butterflies, caused by a sliver of fear
Minute imperfections seem patently clear
With pride in her purpose - steeling her nerves
Adjusting her posture – checking her curves
Feeling the need that resides at her core
She gathers her courage and steps through the door.
