Isolation,
brutal punishment of misunderstanding and fear,
impossible bars for the free spirit.
I am always in my own company,
wandering through different worlds,
real, imaginary or mixed,
and so I manage to add other people,
imperfect like me, clean or full of ghosts,
with their own concern, with a shared fate,
who acompany me from a distance
or from the sidewalk in front
or perhaps soon by my side;
and a circle will be formed,
that breaks the isolation
and launches me into the dreaming of my destiny
that contains an undeniable truth.

@firefly

Gisela, you convey raw emotion with your words. I found this piece very moving, you clearly speak from the heart and that draws in this reader at least, to a world very different from mine.

I dearly wish that the hope you allude to in the last few lines is realised.

Thank you for sharing this ❤️

Beautifully written. I hope it helps.

Sometimes, writing posts or replies on here helps me vent my frustration or sadness, and restore some order to the rest of life. I haven't tried poetry... you've inspired me to think about doing so sometime.

For sure, Lea. It helps. Sometimes, when I feel blue, I know it is time to write poetry. Then I review and correct what I just have written and I feel okay again. A few times the paper ends up at the garbage can. lol.

Poetry reflects a state of mind and soul.

I agree. It often reflects the inner subconscious soul, giving it a voice and an outlet.

yes, i read the Christmas poem on here and thought i should try that. think positive and i can do it. your poem is great. it's like going out dressed. when people give you a complement you know you're doing it right.
