This past Sunday I got completely dressed for the first time. I normally have a roommate, but he transferred out around midday on Sunday and I knew I would have the room for myself for the rest of the evening. I went all out: shaved my legs, armpits and upper chest (the first time I've ever shaved anything other than my face in all of my 25 years), painted my nails, did my makeup, put on my favorite dress and heels, the whole nine yards. I loved every minute of it, and spent several wonderful hours reveling in feminine bliss. I also got rather tipsy. I'm normally a one or two beer kind of girl, but Sunday night I was having so much fun that I downed a whole six pack.

At the end of the evening I (reluctantly) showered to get the makeup off my face, but in my inebriated state I failed to remove all of my eye makeup. Fast forward to Monday morning and I have to get up really early for work (so early that I didn't have time to look at myself in the mirror), and I make it into my shop about half hungover. Well, the first thing all of the other guys noticed was how dark my eyes were, and one of them went so far as to rib "So you're wearing eyeliner now?" The Charlotte side of me instantly panicked and almost melted, since I'm deeply closeted and my coworker had hit the nail right on the head, but fortunately my male persona has an excellent poker face and played it off as being a byproduct of my hangover, which everyone seemed to accept. This was close call number one.

Close call number two came this afternoon when another coworker and friend made a comment saying that lately it seems like I've started wearing eyeshadow. This came after a 36 hour working day (I spent the night at work doing the midnight shift), so this time I played it off as me being tired at the end of a long day. That being said, it was a close call.

I think the moral of the story is that it's time to invest in some makeup remover. Any brands that y'all would recommend? 😉 Still, Sunday was a wonderful evening, and I hope I get the chance to get completely dolled up again soon.

Hi Charlotte,

Drinking while crossdressed - that sounds like a fun evening. As for the eyeliner, now that they've noticed, here's your chance to just go with it...keep wearing the eyeliner in guy mode, but do it so that it looks trendy. On makeup too, you could hint you wear makeup to cover up tired facial lines. There are a few guys, musicians, artists, and just trendy guys who have found the fun of eyeliner and makeup - good luck!

Regarding makeup removal, I use coconut oil. It's pretty handy for all sorts of uses, one being makeup removal and the other being a leg conditioner after shaving

I like the Neutrogena cleaning cloths and some of there generic equivalents. Cetaphil also works well for me.

My entertaining day was the one when I didn't get all of my lipstick off. The server in the coffee shop noticed a lipstick stain on my coffee cup - just replaced it quickly saying she was sorry for having brought me a dirty cup. I used my napkin a lot that morning. Thank god I was wearing a subtle shade - I can just imagine if I'd worn something really bright the night before.

There are so many commercial makeup removal wipes available choice is myriad. As well there are many different removal fluids one can use with makeup removal pads.

Using a good makeup remover means you don't have to scrub your face, you just cleanse and then apply a toner.

Have fun finding what you need.
