I've been enjoying being able to share my poetry here, so here is another of many I'm sure I'll be posting. I welcome all comments, both encouragement and criticism of my subjects or styles of writing. Thank you all for allowing me to be part of such a wonderful place!
Within Myself
When I sit and think,
of days gone by;
I worry and ponder,
and wonder why.
Why should I love,
when no one cares;
Why should I try,
when no one dares.
It's times like these,
that I feel alone;
And I really can't call,
this earth my home.
So I delve into myself,
deep within my soul;
Searching for that peace,
that I know will make me whole.
It leads me along,
dark ancient ways;
Filled with shadows,
and a shimmering haze.
And in the shadows,
through the haze;
I glimpse memories,
of better days.
Days gone by,
and days to come;
Then I know,
where I'm from...
Myself.
