I came out to my wife about a year ago and she is the one and only person who knows about my dressing. Well, until last Sunday anyway. I live in a house that has security cameras and a push button door lock on the entrance that beeps when the buttons are pushed so I feel pretty confident that I will have enough time to run for cover when unexpected company shows up while I am dressed. My 3 kids are all adults, live in the area, and all have the door combo so I need to stay alert when en femme to naintain my secrecy. Unfortunately, I got a bit careless last Sunday. My wife and I were in the kitchen, where we couldn't see the camera screen, preparing food for an afternoon bbq with me fully dressed in wig, heels, and a nice skirt and blouse combo with breast forms. We were grinding our own ground beef with a noisy power grinder when I hear from behind "why is Dad dressed like that"? The shock of being caught put me in a dream like state-I honestly felt like it was a dream. I was on the verge of confessing all when my wife said" we are working on a costume for Halloween at Vegas". My son chuckled but didn't ask any more questions. So I guess my secret is still safe (sort of) for now. Although my kids all have noticed that I keep my chest and legs shaved so it's probably just a matter of time before they put 2 and 2 together if they havent already.
As an Australian I always find the 'Halloween Defence' an interesting approach. People seem to feel they can wear anything at Halloween without raising eyebrows yet are unable to do so at any other times. Halloween is pretty much non-existent here, and what there is tends to be only for children.
I'm not sure what the rest of the conversations were when your son visited, not how long he stayed, but the fact that he didn't make any negative comments suggest that he wasn't too overwhelmed by the idea.
My wife and I were worried about how our four adult children would react. As it turned out, we need not have bothered. They have all accepted it positively. I've even shared CDH articles with a couple of them. My son's reaction was "I feel sad that you felt you had to hide it for so long."
It sounds like your children might have already started to work things out Dava. It might not be as hard to complete that maths problem for them as you think it is.
🙂
