I have noticed a change that I never expected in how young children react to me. I still dress in male clothing for most of my outside the home time. For the most part shorts, summer shirts and athletic shoes. It being summer I not shave all of my body hair but it isn't too long or thick so from a distance it isn't noticable. With my hair now looking very feminine, I am starting to appear androgynous. I have noticed that adults do double takes but the young children are also looking at me. They smile and wave. It has happened several times so and is adorable. I love it.
Ive often found that children are much more apt to accept our appearance. Prejudice is taught, and as long as parents have not passed on bigotry to the children, the transgender community can eventually be accepted as the norm in society. Raise your glass to that day.
