A few months before I went full time I was in the habit of wearing makeup every day. Just some light foundation and a natural lookig lip color. It made me feel true to myself, without (so I thought) giving myself away.
When I finally came out at work my boss mentioned that he'd had a few questions from folks about which gender pronouns they should use for me.
I guess, awesome that they were considerate enough to ask, less awesome that my cunning stealth mode failed 🙂
Do you wear makeup every day, even in drab mode?
How do you get away with it?
I do not wear makeup every day.
Wait... do you considerlip stain/tinted lip balm as makeup? B/c I do wear that. Even as a presentable male.
Outside of work is a different story...
I feel makeup should reflect your personality . At first when I was dressing as a guy my wife used to put a little gloss on my lips and a little natural foundation and I really enjoyed her doing that for me . Later went we went our with friends she started putting on eyeshadow , mascara , and blush . After I stated wearing women's clothes , pants , blouses , and ballet or Mary Jane shoes to,work - then I really started wearing eyeliner and lipsticks that matched my outfits . Once , I got over worrying about WHAT PEOPLE WOULD THINK - I realize I was a pretty lady that was going to live as I wanted to , my co workers was who I was concerned for making them uncomfortable . But , quickly learned my girlfriends at work were lovling treating me as just another girlfriend . The secret is to be yourself but try in fit in in current fashions and makeup wherever you are . I love people telling me I am beautiful , but I would never wear the same evening gown and glamour girl makeup and jewelry to work that I wear to the ballet or opera . Makeup is like Marilyn Monroe said put it on and if one thing really stands out change that . You should always be comfortable in what you wear and that will make you want to be kind , polite , and nice . Kisses and Hugs
No but I am considering it! It would make changing clothes to femme, on the fly, a whole lot easier.
