Hi,

There’s only so much fun and exploration doing Youtube videos en femme.

I have been looking forward to attending a drag show for the second time. A staff member had said he thinks it would be this month. This restaurant is the same place I had my initial experience, perhaps in February. I’m wondering if it will actually happen.

My passion for dressing up — my developed skills — has made me eager to go further into the world. I want to make a name for myself. What can I do? I have posted some poetry and lyrics online. I want to perform them on stage. I want to develop something like what Pee Wee Herman and Elvira did in The Groundlings.

Hey Samantha, Dawn is right.  Find a way to make it happen and then be prepared for mistakes and disappointment and bruises and learning and excitement and joy.  Above all else, don't just sit home and reminisce.  It's not easy, but take an active role in your own future and make it happen.  Try not to hurt family and others along the way.  You might also watch the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Program for inspiration.  Hugs from Marg who once made it happen too.

I have some other ideas Samantha, beyond what you posted, depending on which ways you'd like to enhance your reputation, but for now and sticking strictly with what you mentioned in your OP: long ago there were college bars that had "open mic night".  The one I usually went to gave you 15 minutes onstage or three songs.  If there weren't many people signed up that night, you got a chance at a second turn once they were thru the list.  I haven't been to such an affair in over 20 years, but if these still exist, I think that may be a good way to cultivate a bit of a following or at least provide yourself with more exposure.
