Hi everyone. My name is Ashleigh. I am a cd / sissy in my mid-30s from the west coast of the US. While I am happy living my life 98% of the time as a typic guy, I have been curious about occasionally dressing up since I was a child. For those familiar with kink, my cross dressing has blended with ABDL and 'sissy' activities over the years.
like a lot of CDs, I have dealt with a lot of shame and fear, occasionally amassing a couple of outfits and hen purging out of shame. I am happy to share that this week I have actually taken the step to order my first 'real' dress for me. Not some costume I bought in a panic from the sale counter that barely fit or a second hand skirt from a college girlfriend. It's a dress I picked out, was measured for and is for me.
i did have a question. As I prepared to make this purchase, I was ... Terrified. I kept remeasuring myself and second guessing my outfit selection (it really is the perfect dress for me). My partner knows about my dressing and while she doesn't want to share it with me, she is fine with me doing it alone.
so why was I so nervous to buy that dress?
Were you terrified or excited. Sometimes I find they feel similar.
Ashleigh sometimes the emotions that are in play when we make that 'first purchase' are conflicting; a mix of fear, excitement and sometimes even shame but once we've done so there is usually a feeling of relief and joy that the world didn't cave in on us and that we survived the experience.
The more you buy (that's not actually an invitation to go out and go crazy with shopping) the more comfortable you'll become with the process. Eventually you'll quite easily go to stores and just buy what you want, your only fear then being "can I really afford it?"
Until then enjoy your new dress and think about appropriate accessories.
🙂
Ashley,
I must agree 100% with Jane. Your emotions were probably running the full gammet of Excitement, Nervousness, Happiness, Fear etc..... I know in my case, I believed everyone in the world was looking down on me for my purchase. The world didnt end, buying what is perceived to be female clothng continued to get easier, and sales clerks are so helpful now.
Cookie! 🙂
I prefer to buy online to be honest...saves any awkwardness and many shops will make them for you.. I love the Lolita style clothes and my wife and I also like a bit of ABDL...she likes me to wear more sissy style baby clothes and a diaper or some lovely frilly knickers...It's hard if your partner isn't into it..for me that would be a bad relationship to be in. But, like I say that's just me and as long as your partner is OK with you doing it then go with it for now and enjoy your dress. 🙂
