Not sure what I'm doing here really. I just thought it was probably more interesting to be a member than not be one, but my participation in any crossdressing forum has always been a bit ptachy, so I don't hold out much hope of it being any better here.
For the record I found you all via the links to articles that were posted on Twitter.
Still, here goes.
I'm Rachel. At the time of writing I'm in my early fifties, I'm married and I have two nominally adult children. I'm English by birth and upbringing, but emigrated to Australia just under ten years ago and am now a dual UK/Australian citizen.
I started crossdressing in my teens, and kept it in the closet and under the radar the whole time. I married, and had children. And still I kept it hidden. And I was a bit miserable about having to do so. Finally, about ten years ago, I released the Kraken and came out to my family. Much excitement (in all senses of the term) ensued, and now I'm not so miserable.
I am a crossdresser. I am happy as a guy most of the time, but like to express that part of me that isn't a guy when I can. I'm happy out and about in public, often go on outings as Rachel with my family and have, I hope, mostly struck a balance between the two sides of me - not that they are that much different, except in areas of looks.
And that's it for an introductory post, really. I'm happy to share more of my story to anyone who's interested, and happy to answer questions about how I got to where I am today.

Hi Rachel! WE are so glad to have you as a member! WE hae seeral Aussie lasses on the site including two of the ambassadors-Maxine and Jane S! Given the timing I usually see them around midnight US east coast time where I Am! I hope your experience here is better than your previous sites you visited. WE are a very friendly and suportive group and look forward to getting to know you better. Brief ummary-I am 51, dressing since age 111. CD but also exploring TG feelings. Come visit with us in the public chat room. Iam out of town so I m not sure what time I will be on tonight but I am usually in there most evenings starting from 8pm-11pm-depending on the ay and staying in until 1 AM during the week and til times unknown weekend nights(all times EDT-which i THINK i you all are about 14 hours ahead of us.)
