My name is Lauren, and I just discovered this site today and decided to join up! I am a mid 30's lifelong CD here in the great state of Georgia. I am sure my story is very similar to many other ladies on here, but here goes!
Crossdressing has been a part of who I am for as long as I can remember. For me it all started when I was about 6 years old, I always remember feeling as though I had "two sides" to my brain that had equal control of me. Dressing up allowed me to be able to express the feminine side of my personality, albeit in complete secrecy. The older I became, the more I learned about what society deems as "normal" the more I grew to question the "why" of it all and started to have serious doubts that I should continue doing it.
During my college years I tried a few times to rid myself of my desires (and all of my items), however they only came back stronger each time (and I lost so many gorgeous heels... *sigh*). It wasn't until 6-7 years ago that I realized that this is who I am and began the journey to accept that.
A few years into my journey, I met a wonderful lady who is now my wife and we have been happily married for several years now. I made it an absolute point to come out to her before we were married, and let me tell you I am soooo glad I did that. She is extremely encouraging and accepting, and actually quite enjoys it when Lauren is around. I am extremely lucky to have her in my life.
Hmmm... well that's more than I originally expected to blabber on about. Sorry for the long intro, but it's only been recently that I have found sites like this where I can share years of built up thoughts with a wonderful community of like-minded ladies, I catch myself babbling along oh-to-much at times! Looking forward to getting to know everyone! Hugs.
