My name is Lori. I am a mtf non-op transsexual living full time as a female. I live south of Pittsburgh, PA.

Right now I have a lawyer working on my name and gender change. I can't wait until that's all over! I am so anxious to not have to explain whenever I have to show my ID.

I look like a female and haven't been called Sir in years and I like it that way lol.

I posted a question in a forum about work on this site but I'm going to ask it here as well.

After I have my name and gender changed I would like to take a little job somewhere. Does anyone think I should have to explain to anyone, like the boss or the person interviewing me about me being trans? I wouldn't think so since I'll have all my ID's in female with my new name but I thought I'd see what you thought of it. Thank-you!

Hi Lori and welcome!  This is a great site to meet and chat with an incredible group of gals.

As far as your question...  If you go through the process of getting your name and gender marker changed officially in PA, then I would imagine it wouldn't really even come up in an interview.  If all of your documents list you as female, and you're applying for work as a female... then you are a female applicant!  Simple as that in my mind.

Best of luck during your interviews and I am glad you're here with us!!
