I am starting to look for a wig. Unfortunately, I have a large head (hat size 8). Given the difficulty that I have finding hats, I am seeking help where I can find wigs that fit without spending a fortune.

I got mine from wigs.com. They have a good selection of "large cap" wigs, plus very helpful articles and such about wigs.
Unfortunately, the style range for large cap wigs is pretty limited. Depending on what you're looking for, I think you'll find the best wigs and best selection here.
I think the shorter the hair length the better the selection. I have a long hair wig - back flows past my shoulder blades, but I only had 4 styles to choose from, but a good selection of colors.
Spend the money on a good wig, you'll be much happier and look even better
