Going for my first batch of makeup this weekend. I know I need brushes, light and dark concealer, foundation, powder, eye shadow, mascara, and lipstick. What am I forgetting? Any tricks on picking the right shade of foundation?
Just thinking of everything I've bought over the last month:
primer helps, eye shadow base/primer, under eye setting powder, setting spray helps makeup last
blush, bronzer, contouring palette, lip gloss, eyebrow gel, eyebrow pencils, eye liner, light colored eyeliner for inner corner, lip liner, color corrector palette, beard cover if you have heavy beard
Not all necessary but all helpful things I've grabbed that I didn't think of right off the bat.
Of course I think I have more makeup than my wife lol
After reading Gina's post , i now know why i never got into make-up much. If i was out and about i would get the make up right, but as i am a closet cd, make up is not a high priority for me. I do put on a bit of powder now and then, and i do splash a bit of Chanel #5 sometimes.
OMG! I was nervous and scared but decided to try makeup and a wig at home. all I can say is what a disaster. I looked terrible. I really want to get to the point where I can pass, but wow. tonight so wasn't passing. More like an episode from the Walking Dead. Maybe I was wrong and either this isn't for me or its just underdress. Feel so confused and messed up right now. Ugh.
Hang in there Georgia, remember GG's have had a lifetime to perfect their makeup, while we are learning on the fly. Personally I've spent many hours on you tube and pinterest looking at a variety of tutorials and how to's. There are many resources for both gg's and cd's that are really good. Practice practice practice. Tiger Woods didn't build his golf swing in a day, and like any skill it will take time. Make sure to cut yourself some slack and enjoy the learning experience, enjoy the feeling of primping and putting your makeup on. Find the small details that look good and admire them, let them give you a little confidence boost. You'll get there hun!
