I'm fortunate in that here in New York I hooked up with a local CD/TG group that is just awesome. You just have to keep looking. There used to be a site called Tri Ess that was a resource for this. I don't know if it exists.
Get a wig. Get everything. Then find that local group or maybe even start your own and have fun.
