Hi all, Ive put this in profile already, but thought I'd add to the forum intro too.
I am Tanya, a 50 year old Trans(something) living in Surrey.
I have been Trans(something) for all of my life that I can remember, not that I can remember much before about the age of 7. I am saying Trans(something) because I do not feel I fit neatly into any particular subgroup – I have aspects of me from across the spectrum. The closest would probably be transsexual, but I would not say I am in the classic definition. I am probably most comfortable identifying as third gender. I am doing hrt for my own inner contentment. I am not what you would call full time in that I do not present the way I would like to the mainstream world, but this (femme) is my usual mode for the vast majority of life, made easier by fact that I do not work full time anymore.I have no interest in any life as a "man", no interest in friends or social life as male, so its not like I have a double life or anything like that. My want for this group is plutonic friendship, conversation and the like in an accepting environment. So much of the Trans online communities seem to be all about flirting, and sex talk, which really isnt my cup of tea. I do not percieve what I am as any kind of fetish, so I can't relate to that being the whole focus/motive of conversation. But, for the record, so far as sexuality is concerned, becuase I am a pragmatic soul, I am ok to consider myself Homosexual in that I am only comfortable in relationships with masc guys, as a femme. My interests all seem to be somewhat on the academic side, even though I am far from being such myself. I love sciences, History, origins, cosmology – big promoter of science education – also a bit of a tech geek.
Cant' abide sports – it took me about 2 years before i discovered that scottish fellow had won wimbledon – well done you, scottish fellow.
I'm affraid I am not very politically correct when it comes to the do's and don'ts of the words one is supposed to use – I can often be found refering to myself as a tranny or gurl, and have no issue with such words – but then, I wouldnt use such words directed to anyone but myself, so hope I can be forgiven such faux pas.
The only social media I really use is Google – I particularly like the hangouts, and perhaps one day be nice to establish a regular group for friendship/support etc.</span>
no idea how to format text on here or add pictures, so here is my flickr that have only recently started to use and quite enjoy the communities there
Don't expect much though - I'm a bit of an old battleaxe
Hi Tanya,im a fellow brit , I'm at the mature end of the spectrum , that means I've been roun d the block a few times. I'm with you on the sports thing, also in agreement about some of the other trans community sites. I must say i have not come across anything like that on this site's. Its one of the things i love about it there's no real smutty talk , i feel safe to talk here. Love Zoe xx
Hello Tanya welcome with us
Catherine
Hi Tanya and welcome.
What a wonderful introduction. We are very glad to have you here with us.
CD Heaven was created to be a safe and understanding environment for all, right across the diverse spectrum. It is not, and never will be a pick up site. There are plenty out there for those who want that. Vanessa and the Ambassadors work very diligently to keep it that way. If you encounter any posts or messages that you feel fall into that category, please let one of us know.
Having said all that, have a look around the forums and profiles, jump in with a comment where you see fit or start your own topic.
I'm sure you will find that this community is accepting and inclusive.
Enjoy you time with us,
Hugs,
Maxine
Hi Tanya and welcome from another mature girl, not a million miles away in Hampshire. Sounds great that you have achieved some sort of balance and harmony within your life - I think that's a challenge for many of us that are able to keep this under wraps, but of course, it's rare that we ever stop thinking about it...
This seems a safe and friendly place - pull up a comfy cushion and grab a cocktail from the bar..! 🙂

Cocktails? Who is serving cocktails?
Welcome to the site Tanya. I endorse everything already said. I know you'll find great conversation here, there will no doubt be other "tech geeks" to engage with and as has been hinted at, there are quite a few of we 'mature' girls.
I'm not overly concerned about terminology as long as none of it is used to denegrate or give offence. I prefer to look at 'who' rather than 'what' we are anyway. We're just human beings, alike but also unlike many others out there.
I love the Flickr photos too.
Have fun.
Jane
Cocktail sounds like a GREAT idea-think I'll fix myself a rum and coke(or Cuba Libre' !) right now!
