I am picking up a little extra holiday money by working at Kohls (For those of you who don't have a Kohls near you it is a department store with probably has the most lingerie in a department store). Imagine walking by the lingerie area! I enjoy looking at it and wish I could try some on or at least buy some.
Occasionally a guy will come up to the register with bra's and/or panties. I can tell they are for his wife or girlfriend. For one thing they use their credit cards. Second of all you can look at them and just tell.
Anyhow this guy comes up to the register with a slew of lingerie. Bra's panties, sleepwear. He is wearing sunglasses, a baseball cap and looks very nervous. His coat is closed and and with the sunglasses and cap he is unrecognizable. He pays in cash and looking around he leaves the store. With all that coverage and nervousness he practically advertises that he bought them for himself (I could also tell by the size he bought). I thought it was ironic that of all the cashiers he came up to me. I wish I could do that and get my employee discount to boot (Wouldn't ever do that of course but I would love to have bought all the stuff he did).
How many of you have gone nervously into a lingerie shop to buy something for yourself and someone can tell you are buying it for yourself? And the reaction?
It happened to me at Target some time ago. I was buying some foundation wear and the cashier said "I hope these all fit". I was a little surprised, to say the least, but, I told her "I hope so, too. Thanks", and went on my way. She knew, I knew that she knew, but, what the hell, who really cares nowadays. I never worry when I am shopping in drab for Kathy. Life is too short to let little things bother me.
As I said it it is so ironic that he ended up with me as his cashier but I've been there before. When I was in my twenties I went into a store and very nonchalantly bought a black bra, pink bra and a few panties. The cashier I could see was chuckling a little and she probably had a great story to tell her co-workers, so maybe not as much funny since I could sense his embarrassment by the way he acted and wondered if he had gotten a different cashier I would be hearing a story about a guy buying womens underwear.
I brought my first pair of high heels a few years ago. The cashier said "these are one of most comfortable shoes", I wasn't sure at that moment if she knew they were for me, I responded "that's good to know". In hindsight I sure she knew. It was nerve racking and very exciting all at the same time!
I was in Sears one day and they had a panty sale going on three for ten, so I picked out three nice pairs and they all had black in them, I like black underwear, they're sexy. Anyway I went to pay for them and the cashier looked at me and said, "well at least you found your colour". I was shocked and speechless for a second, and she just laughed and told me to enjoy. I said thanks, picked my stuff and left, and had a good giggle in the parking lot.
