When I first joined CDH I looked at it as another tool. I repair restaurant equipment for a living, and my wrenches, my screwdrivers, meters etc... are the tools of my trade. As a fire Fighter, my truck and hoses the water etc... are the tools of that part of my life. What I have realized is that CDH, I intended to use as a crutch, hence calling it a tool, has become much more. What ive discovered since joining the community is that CDH is a home. I've been blessed in making really good friends here in the community. Developing great relationships, found an emotional outlet.
The Support offered by our family here is simply amazing, true concern, for our well being. Because of the wonderful people Ive met here, I have looked deeper into myself, opened up about my past. Willingly discuss with others all the problems that a lass like me would have! I ave made some very good friends, had many a great talk, shared a few too many tears!
The advice I have been given by you wonderful ladies is priceless. We are truly blessed to have such a strong community, with so many supportive ladies!
CDH, is truly a slice of heaven, & I'm proud to call it a home!

You are a precious member of the CDH family. I am so glad to know you and am in awe of you for your career choice in running towards danger instead of away fro it like most of us do. I would imagine this helps in your gender issues too as you rush toward the conflicts it inevitably cause rather than turning and running away as so many of us do. I hope to draw inspiration and courage from your example! I SO hope you get the job here in VA because it would mean you would be close enough to visit regularly! (presuming you would be willing to have me visit!)

Thank you Cookie for a great post. I too feel the same way about everyone here , made a massive difference to me since I joined the community. Everyone is out to help and no ridicule or negativity. We all have genuine love for our friends and care so much for each other. I've become more confident and open about my dressing and I'm sure it will become more so as I continue this journey. Thanks to you girls I am less confused as to who I really am and where I want to go. Thank you everyone and love to you all
CDH is a place to contrast my analytical side with my core emotional side and achieve balance in life. Being trained as an engineer tends to make you less emotional, and that lead to anxiety and depression for me. CDH is a counterweight for all of that, and has helped restore balance and harmony to my life!

Well put....I too have used this for emotional balance, being a firefighter....we have 2 emotions, and they are both adreniline fueled....probably why there is always councling available for us.....
