Hey girls, it's my wife's 50th birthday at the end of the month and after 34 years I'm completely out of ideas. Anybody got anything for me, PLEASE??? Thanks Heather.
Tell us more about her? Likes, dislikes, hobbies, what you've done before for birthdays?
A nice getaway hotel, dinner, maybe a show or concert and the I leave the rest to your imagination.
Rachel
Something fun and memorable. Wine and art, a dinner cruise at a river or lake, a weekend getaway.
I have the same problem. I go shopping looking for something she might like or want. I usually end up with some dresses, blouses, lingerie, panties, pantyhose and shoes, but often they are for me. Sigh! Then I end up dressing dressing up for her.
Do all the little chores she does but hates - the dishes, sweeping, cleaning the bathrooms, or whatever. Clean the bedroom, change the sheets. Ship the kids and pets off for the night, a bottle of her favorite wine, and have fun!
Thanks for all the help girls, I'm leaning towards a weekend in Toronto and looking to see what shows are playing , she loves the theatre. I've done the jewelry store thing to death and she's not into the spa day, tried that once, not her thing. Thanks again and keep the ideas coming please. LOL Heather.
Yeah, I learned the hard (read: expensive) way that my wife isn't into the spa day thing either. A few years ago for Christmas I bought her a gift certificate to a local spa with a really good reputation. A pretty significant amount of money. She never used it, and has - I believe - since lost it. *le sigh*
A special weekend in Toronto sounds like a wonderful idea, especially if you can secure tickets to a good show and reservations at a nice restaurant.
For my wife's upcoming B-day, I am planning a dinner at a fancy restaurant inviting a group of her close friends. Getting a private room. It's not a secret and she knows and wants to do this. I am planning a toast to her in which I will say how wonderful she is and how much I love her.
That sounds great Steph, you old romantic dog you
Yeah it's one of those learn as you go deals, one year at Xmas I decided I'd go clothes shopping for her, WRONG, big mistake thank god for gift receipts.
A loving hug and a genuine kiss on the lips is she is wanting from you.
