I came up with a creative and inexpensive wig solution that I wanted to share since so many of us were asking for ideas on the other hair/wig thread.
The idea is to use clip in hair extensions, and do an updo that looks good even with a lower quality wig that might not look as good worn normally. I got these cheap (by one get one free!) clip in extensions at a beauty supply store for just a few bucks and used it with a shoulder length wig to achieve something that looks really pretty and 'passable' in my opinion.
Here's the normal wig length. Looks okay but ragged around the ends.
Here's the same wig put up with a clip in ponytail.
And also a straight extension that worked with a half-up style (sorry for the silly pic/duck face, I was trying to take an intentionally dumb selfie to share with someone)
Your results may vary but I thought this looked great and was super cheap! I think when you can put your hair up there's more tolerance for it to be imperfect and it's also unmistakably feminine whereas long straight hair could potentially be 'metal dude' (at least on me). also, this community has been so caring and respectful but as it's my first time posting a pic other than my avatar, I just want to thank everyone in advance for respecting privacy and not showing/sharing pics outside this group (I can't imagine anyone doing that anyway). Not that you can even remotely see a connection between Lindsay and her male version, but still it'll help me sleep better at night to say this 🙂
