Dear All,
Lil abt myself- I am 38 yrs old and a completely closeted CD from India. I dress up in the confines of my home for a couple of days every 3-4 months when my wife and kids travel. Never met any CD in real life.
So, I'll be travelling with my fam to london for a couple of weeks in may. My family will be leaving a little early as I have some business work to do and will be having one evening for myself. Been contemplating to get a makeover done. So... lot of questions running in my head in terms of choosing where to go.
- I'll be staying central london. So, something in the proximity.
- How much time to spend to have a decent experience. I will be free from 6PM. So, will that be good enough and do studios take in guests late evenings.
- I've seen online that there are a few options, how do i choose and pick a studio/service.
Apart from all that, am really anxious of the whole idea. I've never met anyone dressed up nor showed my face. I've tried going to makeover studios in india previously when travelling to other cities but somehow chickened out. Hopefully I go through this time.

@jennykumari Hiya, Jenny: I don't really know about anywhere for a makeover in London, but I'm sure there will be plenty of great options. My main point is - DON'T CHICKEN OUT!!! You'll love it - I've yet to hear from anyone who didn't have one of the greatest experiences of their life! (P.S. If you ever get up here to Leicester, please check out the Femme Side Studio in the suburb of Syston - Tracey will make you feel so fantastic that you'll wonder why you ever delayed!) Holly XXX

@melaniejames This will be my second trip - please have a look at my public photos - and I doubt it will be my last. As well as being a pretty damned good photographer and a great makeup artist (hey, I thought she made me look almost acceptable - she MUST be good!) Tracey is a truly lovely lady and is guaranteed to make you feel comfortable and truly at home. More than worth the trip - even if you were looking at coming from France... You have several options for makeover services in London. I can't post the links here because that would be against site guidelines, but the main four for you to investigate are probably:
- The Boudoir (near Docklands)
- Antonia Wood (who I think is in the Leyton/Tottenham area)
- Ms Lola (Central London)
- Boys Will Be Girls (also Central London)
They ALL have terrific reputations, and two of them are in Central London - which would be ideal for you - BUT your main problem is timing.
You say you'll only be available from 6 pm, but the services tend to lock their doors at either 7 pm or 8 pm.
The best thing for you to do is to contact each via their websites and ask what would be possible on the date you have in mind. The people behind makeover services tend to be very approachable and accommodating; it's always possible that they might be able to tailor something especially for you.

Robin, at the risk of repeating myself, I went to BWBG last June and it was incredible (see my public and private photos) . I imagine they're booked up way in advance. I have another appointment in May xx.

@greenann I completely get the whole 'sharp intake of breath' thing ... but go for it girl!
Many of the services get booked up well in advance, so if you want an appointment this summer you may find that you need to make your booking by March. Why not contact BWBG now just to enquire what their waiting list is?
I have a feeling that once I've had my makeover in July gender euphoria will kick in and I'll instantly want to book another ...

Hi Jenny. Good to hear from you. I'm also a closetted crossdresser living in Kent, just south of London. I hardly ever get the chance to dress but last June I had my first makeover. I've heard a lot about The Boudoir, but I went to see Cindy at Boys Will Be Girls in South London. What a fabulous experience! Read my post on my femme day out:
I think you may have problems with your proposed timings. I had a 5 hour appointment from 15.00 to 20.00. I don't think Cindy works later than that.
By total co-incidence I have another session booked for May. It's not cheap but one of the most incredible experiences of my life. I do hope you manage to sort something out. Let us know how you get on.

Have fun and don't "chicken out" You will enjoy yourself if you go through with it.
What are you looking for? If just a makeover, then just about any makeup counter will do it, but if you want the full crossdressing experience then there are a few options, all seem to be good, so go with whoever works for your schedule. I went to Ms Lola and she was great. She does full dressing services, or just make-up if that is what you want. You can send an hour or more dressed, and she will help remove your makeup if you wish. You can also do make-up and dress for the evening and then arrange removal. I do a full dress service, but then left with partial makeup and then dressed on my own for a play that evening.

London is a fun place to dress and go out. I have seen a couple of plays and had a great time. Ride the tube was fun as well.

I've been to The Boudoir a couple of times now, the first was positively wow. Jodie Lynn performed some magic on me, I waited far too many years before taking the plunge. Timing might be an issue though. Drop her an email via the website and see.
