I have a question about panty shopping in the US. I was just wondering if anyone could recommend any good department store places as I want to buy more American female underwear and underdress more. I have a preference for Vanity’s Fair panties especially Vanity Fair® Perfectly Yours Ravissant Nylon Brief Panty and Vanity Fair® Perfectly Yours LACE NOUVEAU Full Brief Panty. Any advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Discussions are welcomed too.

I hope this is the right forum and if not please delete

The HerRoom website is excellent and has great variety. I’ve been a customer for around 10 years. They also have an informational section where they discuss how to take measurements, the purpose of various garments, how they are supposed to fit, etc.

Thank you for your recommendation, I checked out HerRoom website. Very informative however because of my current situation I can’t ship packages 📦 to my home.

@bloomersandshorts9 Check into having items delivered to a Post Office Box or held at Fedex and UPS stores.

@bloomersandshorts9 To be honest, I’ve never asked. I suggest contacting them to see what they can and cannot do. However, from the FedEx website:

Pick up and drop off packages near you

With so many retail locations to choose from, convenience is never far away. Pick up and drop off shipments at FedEx Office, Walgreens, Dollar General, grocery stores, and other locations.

I would imagine that UPS does something similar.

Amazon has virtually everything you may want and more.  If you're looking for brick and mortar stores, department stores like Macy's and Kohls are good.   For dedicated lingerie stores, Soma is my favorite and of course there's always Victoria's Secret.  I haven't shopped at Intimissimi yet but it looks like they have nice things too.

Thank you for your recommendation. I have done Amazon and sometimes it is quite expensive. Due to a personal and family issue I don’t want to use my credit card while buying female clothes in the US. Last time I was in the USA I bought my first pair of  American panties, Vanity Fair® Perfectly Yours Ravissant Nylon Brief Panty at Kohl’s and I love ❤️ them. I prefer to go to a department stores and use cash only so that there is no paper trail.

@bloomersandshorts9 Just so you know, you can purchase Amazon Gift cards for cash and apply them to your account.  This way you can buy from Amazon without using a credit card.   This way there is no paper trail.  They also have lockers where you can have items delivered if having things shipped to a home address is a concern.

Thank you for your suggestion. I thought about using Amazon gift cards however honestly I don’t know how they work with putting money into the gift card and unfortunately I live in a small town in the Midwest so it would be hard to ship it to a locker. I like your idea of going to Kohl’s or Macy’s. Hopefully the sales associates will be helpful. How is Victoria Secrets? I’m very picky about my panty style preferences. I don’t think there is a Intimissimi or Soma store near me.

@bloomersandshorts9 Victoria's Secret has nice things and the prices aren't the worst so you might want to give them a try.

oh nice. How are the sales associates at VS? Also does VS have brief panties or high cut panties. Are they helpful with sizing and information? I wanted to also ask, how are sales associates at Kohl’s and Macy’s?

@bloomersandshorts9 Many sales clerks will be on commission, so if they aren't interest in treating you with respect, there is no need to reward them with your hard earned money.

@bloomersandshorts9 In all honesty, I have had both good and not so good experiences at VS.  Generally, the majority of my experiences have been good. When it was bad, I just got what I wanted and left.   Good or bad, I always wound up with what I wanted and to me that is the most important thing.   If you look at their website, you can get an idea if what VS cuts of panties VS carries.   As for Kohl's and Macy's, they have eliminated many sales associated in favor of centralized cashiers so you're generally on your own.   It's not great of you need selection assistance but great if you want to browse on your own without someone hanging over you.

Just a general thought on interactions in retail stores....the turnover of workers in retail in lover end and department stores is so high that odds are you will never see a specific sales associate ever again.  If it's a bad experience I just get what I want and move on.   My objectives and needs are far more important than some person's bad attitude.   On the other hand I have interacted with some people who have been very helpful, and I have returned and done business with them again.  People with positive attitudes are far mor likely to be at a job when you go back the next time.

Very interesting 🧐 thank you for your insights. I never shopped at VS as I always thought VS is for young adult women. I shopped at Kohl’s for the first time last summer and bought my favorite panties. I noticed that there were no salespeople around at the time. I like not having salespeople around looking over my shoulder but it is nice to ask them if certain pair of panties are in stock or not.

no I’m single but temporarily I’m living with family due to a family issue, I can’t get into details. One of my family members knows that I wear Japanese PE sports bloomers and women’s panties but I’m not sure if they are supportive as I come from a conservative and religious background.

If you want to keep it simple, brick and mortar stores are your best bet.

As others have mentioned, Macy's and Kohl's are good options.

Another good option is Nordstrom.  They're perhaps a higher end retailer but still reasonably affordable.  Their sales associates tend to be professional retailers with lots of customer service experience.  They're also trans friendly....at least where I live near San Diego.

Discount chains such as Marshalls and Ross are another option.  Inventory is hit or miss and the stores are sometimes a mess.  But the prices are great.

Thank you for your advice.  Yes I want to keep it simple and go to brick and mortar stores. I’ve been to Kohl’s once before. I’m just curious about the sale associates at Kohl’s or Macy’s in regard to customer service. I never shopped for panties in US stores before by myself. I was wondering if you could tell me if you have experience with sale associates at Kohl’s or Macy’s? Unfortunately I live in a small Midwest town so we don’t have a Marshall’s and Ross. I should’ve also clarify that I’m not trans or crossdresser but I’m just a guy who underdresses and wants to buy panties at stores in person due to reasons that I mentioned

I’m going to try Walmart but I’m researching to see if they have any good brief panties or high cut panties. If you have any good recommendations. Please let me know.

I've never asked for sales help at Kohls so I don't know.  But anecdotally, I don't think they have many professional salespeople.  I think it would be hit or miss at Kohl's.  The more customer focused chains such as Macy's or Nordstrom will have professional salespeople that are well-trained and respectful.  I think you'd be treated well in either of those stores.

I wouldn't worry about how you present.  The salespeople you'll encounter know a lot of men buy women's clothing.  They see it every day.  A sale is a sale.  The best way to get great service is to own it.  Tell the salesperson what you want.  Tell them it's for you.  You'd be surprised how quickly that breaks the ice.

I totally 💯 agree with what you are saying and appreciate your honesty and reassurances. I started with my underdressing journey in Japan 🇯🇵 which is super conservative and I went to stores but they asked me if it was for my girlfriend and wondering why I was there. Definitely when I go shopping here in the US I will own it and tell the salesperson what i want and tell them it's for me as I feel the US is more open or aware that men also shop for women’s clothes as it is not as a norm in Japan.
