I'm looking to get some high heels. Ordered online but they aren't wide enough  and they are going back.

I am size 12.5 in men's but wide. So I guess I need size 14-1}.5 in women's.

Anyone know of a store in Connecticut where I can go and actually try on high heels to see what works.

  Hi Candace,

Try Torrid. They have WW sizes. I wear a 12 WW in a woman's size. Most shoe stores don't carry sizes above all women's 12. If you can get a accurate measurement of both feet using the foot measuring tool for women's sizes. That would be a great help, especially if you have to order footwear online.

I hope you can find and enjoy your new heels 👠

@gafran I don't think Torrid has that. I think they only go to 13. I need 14-14.5 WW. But thanks for the thought.

Hi Candace,

As Fran suggests Torrid Carrie’s shoes in wide wide widths.  The stores carry up to a 12 WW but 13 WW are available on their website.

Since you were looking for a 14 you could look at Long Tall Sally.  They carry up to size 15.

@aliceunderwire Thanks for the suggestion. I think at this point I'd like to be able to try them on in person. I guess as we get older our feet widen so I need the width. I can get away with 14-14.5 but I might go 15 so I have extra room!!!

Hi Candace,

Always best to try things on.  And the male foot typically is wider than a womens as well as widening as one ages.  After all gravity can be cruel.

There still are custom shoe makers. They don't have to be too expensive. I did a quick search and found Sumissura, for example. They probably don't have something that you want, however, they may know of a company that can help you. Contact them.

Do a more thorough search and see what you can find. Tell others here what you find, too, because I am sure some other members would appreciate knowing.
