Hi...are there any suggestions for us sods with wide feet?  I'm a size 10, so understand I need to go to a size 12 ladies, but I won't be able to wear closed toe because of wide feet.

i'm a beginner so looking for like a one inch or two inch heal...but i guess open toe?

all i can find generally for wide feet are the more 'outlandish' six inch heels so stereotypical.

as always, appreciate your help.

@jdnorth I wear a UK Size 12 shoe (male). Am equally fine with a UK 11 or 12 (female) shoe.

For a low heel, try either Amazon or Long Tall Sally, both have plenty of choices.  Try also Koi shoes or Alternative Footwear.

Irregular Choice do have some wide fits but only for a limited selection of their range.

Happy Shopping!

@jdnorth @

Torrid has ww sizes. I wear a woman's 12ww. I understand that Onlymaker has larger woman's shoes. DSW has w sizes up to woman's 12. I have a few pairs in booties. Their a tad tight.

Get a good measurement on both feet for best fitting.

I hope you can find what you're looking for.

@gafran I came here to say this. They had a deal at Black Friday I couldn’t pass up and I got three pairs of wedges. The toe box is VERY wide. This would be a good place to start.

@jdnorth First of all, shoe sizes are somewhat arbitrary, so trying on shoes is pretty imperative if you want to be comfortable and / or want the shoe to stay on your foot.

Companies such as DSW have lots of wide width shoes you can try on in-store. Clarks is pretty consistent from model to model. They make good quality, practical leather shoes with many reasonable heel heights, too. Clarks also have their own stores.

Get the length right first, so that your heel won't slip or be too tight. Then work on getting the width right, for comfort.

@jdnorth John, there might be other choices. A lot of brands have wide width choices. If your feet are wide even for men's you might have more of a problem. I have had some success with the Torrid brand.

I have found that shoe shopping is even more important to do in person. My normal men's size is 10, but only because of my arthritis in my big toes. So usually a woman's size 11 wide is perfect. BUT I had one style at Torrid where the box of the shoe was big and comfy enough that the size 10 was perfect.

@jdnorth Try a brand like Clarks or Easy Spirit. They carry wide up to 12 and have some nice, comfortable styles in pumps with 2" heels.

@cherylt my wife claims Clark’s are “old lady shoes” but I absolutely love the pairs I have from them. Great suggestion.

The Breast Form Store has a good selection of shoes.

Also check out Enfemme.

Both advertise on CDH.

Hi John,

I see you’re in Toronto.  As Fran suggests, Torrid has stores in Canada and the US.  In stores they carry to a 12 WW and 13 WW on line.  If you find something you like they will ship to the store and you can try the shoes on.  Often clearance isn’t returnable but sale items are.  So you might be able to return them at the store.  Torrid is CD friendly so you can shop enfemme or in drab.

I have had some good luck with Amazon, and recently Long Tall Sally. LTS has some choices in extra wide widths.

I hope you find something fun! Shopping

Depending on the shoes, I'm either a size 12 or 13.  I tried Onlymaker booties, but did not find them comfortable at all.  I tried Ellie Thrill and and Cha-cha boots and love them.

I am not sure if Zalando is a thing in Canada, but I recently discovered that they have pretty decent range of affordable shoes in big sizes, also in wide feet versions
