I have done so since I came out to my family the fear of been discovered is gone. The relief is a weight being lifted off me. Doctor has to be next, they are my source of medical care and as a gay man, who has relationships with other men. Hiding my sexual practices and orientation is a lie to me and denies me a proper health care. So yes I even say it is necessary for your care givers to know the truth.
