I remember it so well. I was 13 yrs old. I had walked down to Montgomery Wards. I was so nervous. I walked around the boys section and then wondered into the woman’s section. When I walked over to the panties there was a lady who was staring at me, I can only imagine what she was thinking. I walked over to stand and started looking for my size. I found a 3 pack on a hanger Red White and black. All satin and frilly. I walked them up to a counter where an older lady was working. She asked me “Dear what do you need these for.” I told her they were for my sister. She looked at me funny and rang me up.  It was quite the experience at 13 but I got over it and have been buying woman’s clothing for 28 yrs now.
