It is always hard to hear about jobs being cut, esp when it is your own. The first thing you should do, is the very day you are officially terminated, file for those unemployment benefits you are entitled to. DO NOT waste even a day doing that.
Now, look around at your community and find those jobs and side hustles that do not go away. Security guard, pizza delivery, yard work, handy man, etc. If you need something to supplement the unemployment bennies, find something that will pay you in cash as there is much, much less record keeping to do as far as taxes and such. Most of these won’t be exactly what you are wanting to find or make a career, but they will put some food on the table for the time you need them to.
Above all else Sam*an*tha, DO NOT get down on yourself if you don’t find something as fast as you want to. Right now is a hard time to be looking for another job, but they are there or soon will be. Be patient. Be persistent. Stay positive. It WILL get better. And we all here at CDH know you will make it and will prosper.
As far as wishing to work and present as female, the laws are on your side but may need some pushing here and there to get them to open up and be able to be utilized, but they ARE there for you.
My wishes are with you,
