Girls,
Driving is such a liberator for us, we can get out in a safe environment and to safe places.
A couple of tips:
1) Bring a bag of drab clothes just in case. If you break down or have an accident you don’t want to be hiking 5 miles to the garage in high heels or filling out insurance forms with an angry other driver in a dress. I broke down once and though I did get her going again the oil stains on my blouse were not easy to get out!
2) Bring a pair of flat shoes for driving. Heels can get stuck under the pedals, and you will almost certainly scratch the leather (especially the heels!!) on the pedals and other machinery. Yes, you can learn to drive in heels (I’ve done it) but a panic stop is not easy at the best of times. Who wants to have on their conscience “I might have stopped before hitting that child if only…”?
Simone
