
Laura dear, I too am a lover of the skater dress for all the same reasons you are.
Now, I must be brave then! I deliberately wear a skater dress when its windy to experience what you describe. Many times I have sashayed down “white van man parade” ( a path on the common parallel to the road and about 10yards in) hoping to accidentally flash my knickers, but sadly it hasn’t happened yet. On the plus side I do regularly turn a few heads.
My favourites are both of a slightly thicker material (not scuba but similar) and do keep a wonderfully flared shape that does encourage a good air flow. 😉😉
