For those across the water this is a history thread. Old Roger is a traditional ale brewed to a recipe believed to be over 500 years old by one of the oldest breweries in England, It is served at the Royal Standard of England a hostelry/pub believed to have been serving ales for 1000 years. It’s a traditional ale house old timber construction deep in the Buckinghamshire countryside.
There has been many an occasion when “She who must be obeyed” has driven me to the Royal Standard for an evening of Old Roger and helped me to the car afterwards barely able to walk.
By the way the food pretty good too.
