You are entirely in the right, insomuch as “right” is to be had.
Art exists to call to question preconceived feelings and emotions. And I admit as an artist I’m entirely too sensitive to the emotions that art may evoke in others.
In short, I was quick to jump to defense mode and slow to appreciate the praise inherent in your commentary.
I want to echo, to amplify if possible, your statement that CDH has helped you, helped me, helped us. In no means do I want to downplay that truth. At the same time though I wish to be honest about the struggle in which we live offline, many of us having to hide who we truly are for the sake of meeting expectations. It’s tragic but it’s currently the way the world works.
