When I first decided I needed a femme name I chose the name of someone my wife admired, Suzy Orman.
She started as a waitress and with verbal and cash tips she became a famous financial advisor. Maybe it is just me but a waitress getting financial tips from customers made me wonder what other services she provided. So, with tongue-in-cheek, I named myself Susie Horman. I have since changed my name to the current Janus Emory. Janus was the Roman god of endings, transitions and beginnings. The god was often depicted with 2 faces, one male, one female. My wife passing was the end of one life, coming out to the world came during my transition and the beginning of Janus.
