When I was first in school there were only two sports to choose from Rugby/Rugby League in the winter and cricket in the summer! Grass hockey and soccer were for the ‘sick, lame or lazy’!
Luckily I was very good a cricket…
Fencing at high school level and became New Zealand champion in two disciplines foil and épée though cricket still loomed large (I only stopped playing cricket at 50)
Was a ski instructor for 25 years, surfed in the summers, played ice hockey later on and was a competitive cyclist for 50 years…
